SDSU and not even by a little bit. Buy a lot. Here me out.

I do not wish success or anything that gives the gris additional help or a leg up. Ever. At all. If they continue to win, this means more practice time, more revenue through more home games, and bolsters recruiting. I want none of that for them.

Bring on SDSU... or whomever.
Practice time only helps if developing younger players. The transfers they will bring in won't get that benefit. \:D/
Ok, and? Still don't want that for them. Nothing that helps.
It's a dig at Griz using transfers vs developing

Oh, I know. 8)

I remain steadfast that I don't want anything for them that gives them anything extra. Ever.

I think the Cats are VERY capable of beating both. I don't, however, think the gwis make it past this weekend. Their defense is brutally average and big game Bobby will rear his ugly head. The Jacks? They could be a problem, but a lot of folks forget the Cats played a very poor game and only lost to a healthy SDSU by a few inches
With a makeshift o-line that has drastically improved with the return of Mastel and the ability to play a bunch of games together. We will be fine against them if it comes to that.

A bye helps, but I think montana poured a ton of energy and emotion and physicality into cat griz, and they lost. At home. The balloon was punctured. I just spent the weekend over there and the fan base has not moved on, so you wonder about the tension in the stadium and how the team will react if it doesn't go well early in the game. I think they're in big trouble. Sdsu is all house money at this point, they were dead in the water 2 weeks ago on the outside looking in.
Reminds me of 2 years ago when we lost to the gris and proceeded to lay an egg vs NDSU. So many people that day were shell shocked we lost to the gris. Wouldn't surprise me at all if the gris come out flat against against an SDSU team living on borrowed time.
I thought we played damn good that day against NDSU but maybe I'm misremembering. It was NDSU after all.
I remember a very beatable NDSU that we had on the ropes and just couldn't land the knockout blow. Not sayin we didn't play well, but i do remember the pensive feelings about the previous game.

Oh, 100% agree. I also remember feeling like of course I REALLY wanted us to beat NDSU and barely lost that game, but I had zero confidence that we could go BACK to Missoula and beat them, especially with the health of our team. Maybe the team felt differently, who knows.

Tommy blew out his knee in that NDSU game on a 4th-down play that should have been run with Sean Chambers.

That was good Bobcat team that had some bad luck all season. Mellott coming back Fall 2024 was solely on him just wanting it and not being 100% early last season.

I want the gris to make it to the semifinals for two reasons. 1 - we give them a major beatdown this time and win twice in a season. 2 - a semifinal appearance keeps the Bobby haters at bay...and he stays at UM for ten more years!

Well, a gris loss to the Cats again this season would tie Bobby for most losses by a head coach in the series.

He could have losing season for the next 5 years and the love for him will never end. He is God and can do no wrong. I hope he stays for ever.

Does he get any offers from FBS schools?

Some gris fans would have you believe the NFL has offered him coordinator positions he conveniently turned down. #-o

It would be cool tp beat the gris twice in one season. Has it ever happened that one of us has beat the other twice?

But I want to get over the sdsu hump too.

Nope. Vigen has the chance to check a lot of boxes here. Beat the Griz in Missoula? Check. Beat an Ivy League School for the first time ever, hopefully check. Beat the Griz twice in one season, hopefully check. Beat the Bizon in the Chipper, hopefully check.

Way back in the early days it was fairly common for the Cats and Griz to play each other twice in a season. The last time it happened was all the way back in 1913. Unfortunately the Griz won both games that year, but the Bobcats still managed to finish with a 2-2 record by beating Utah State and the "Anaconda Independents" in their other two games. The only time the Bobcats ever beat the Griz twice in one season was in 1899. That year the Bobcats went 3-0 with their third win against get this, Helena High!

I want SDSU to win. As some posters have said, I can't ever root for the gris. Plus, we already beat them, in their place, ruining their undefeated record. That satisfies my anti-gris feelings, especially if coupled with a loss against SDSU or in the next round. Plus, they played well enough and showed a high enough ceiling the first time to make me slightly uncomfortable with them coming here. Not that I think we'd lose, but that if things go just right for them and we have an off day, they are good enough to win. Their ceiling is high, and their floor is low. For that reason, if they play anything like they did against us 2 weeks ago for the next two games, I think they win and I have a ton of nerves semifinals week. If they play more like they did throughout the season, they lose against SDSU.

I like that the griz have only had 1 deep playoff run (semi's +) in the last 14 years. I like being able to point that out to them whenever I get the chance. I want that to stay that way.

I understand your thinking and for nearly all programs it’d be correct. But this is Bobby Hauck and Missoula we’re talking about. If he wants to stay for 10-20 more years he’s staying for 10-20 more years. That fanbase still thinks it’s the early 2000’s. He can literally do no wrong and he won’t go anywhere until he wants to.

And I for one absolutely love that fact!

He doesn’t get any offers because (hot take incoming): he is not well respected outside of the um circle jerk.

HEAR, HEAR!!! =D^

There are few things in life that delight me more than listening to Booby H cry into the mic following a loss to the Cats! 8) AND, imagining him having to drink the bitter cup a 2nd time in a season in his post game thoughts…and to watch his nervous twitches like Inspector Dreyfus from the Pink Panther…would make 2025 an EPIC Cat season! =D^

Imagine IF they were to make the semi’s how fully inflated they’d be…only to crash and burn in Bobcat Stadium! Wow…pure delight!

Special Teams coordinator? He’s not qualified for either of offense or defense at a power FBS program. NFL?? Ha

His latest L gave him sole possession of that record. The coach with the second most losses is Swarthout with 6.
