We win by 4 scores
Is that extra points, safeties, 2-point conversions, FGs or TDs?

Vigen decides to go for drop kicks on all field goals and extra points.

It looks like UNC pass game could give us fits, we need to shut down Cheeks and get pressure on Gibson. Their D seems pretty porous though.

4 different running backs scored touchdowns in this one. (Idaho sucks!)
I think the passing games of NAU, ISU, Cal Poly, were supposed to give us fits too. We'll see. Our front 7 has been getting to the QB pretty damn quick.

UNCU is surprisingly 1-3 in conference halfway through the schedule but that win was against Idaho, who is lucky PSU still attempts to play football. Their only other D1 win is against Houston Christian, a bad Southland team that they needed OT to beat. They seem like they'll put up a fight for four quarters but playing 60 minutes is as close as the 2025 Bears will get to "sneaky".

Look again. They've only lost one game all season by more than a TD. They are much improved, which should come as no surprise considering Ed Lamb's track record...

Point of order! It's UNCU, mmkay?
University of Northern Colorado University?
Yes. It's a BN throwback to when we couldn't figure out if UNC or NCU was the official abbreviation, so we jokinly settled on UNCU. Then GoBears - a No Colorado fan who used to post here - got in quite a huff about UNCU.

Therefore, UNCU it is!
I think we need a thread for curating all these factoids. UNCU, gris, etc.
Idawho or the Ho's, Eeeew or Ewe, Suc State/Pam State.
I don't get Pam State. Can you explain?

That link doesn't really show an explanation
They were spraying their jerseys with Pam non-stick cooking oil, thus Pam State.
Because they thought that would make it harder to tackle them? :-k

If I recall correctly it was linemen who were doing it, to make their jerseys slippery and harder to grab on to.

They have a very good defense. They nearly shutout UC Davis in the second half last week. Ed Lamb is a very good coach, and I'm stunned he's at UNC. Nevertheless, he has them playing inspired ball and their defense can get hot and make things tough for anyone. The Cats go up against another good defense next week in Weber State. Good tests for them late in the season.

In conference play they have allowed the 3rd most TD’s, allow 34.8 points per game.

The only reason they look remotely decent on a yardage basis is because half their games have come against EWU and Portland State, both of whom had some of their better games against Weber, and because the other teams are calling off the dogs at the end of the game. Sac State ran for 400 yards at 8 yards a clip against Weber, and Davis passed at will on them. In no way, whether it be tape or statistically, are they a good defense.

Their offense has put them in bad field position a lot. Do FCS only. It’s more accurate. Last five games have been Hansel.

I wouldn’t have thought at the beginning of the season that this would be the conference game that I am probably most worried about, besides UC Davis and UM. That said, if we win by 20+ I think we are going to have a good chance at running the table until the playoffs.

I did conference only like you suggested, is that now not good enough?

If the offense has put them in bad field position, then that also makes sense on why they’re not allowing as many yards, correct? Can’t have a drive for 80 yards if you get the ball at the 50.

Their offense has put them in bad field position a lot. Do FCS only. It’s more accurate. Last five games have been Hansel.
I did conference only like you suggested, is that now not good enough?

If the offense has put them in bad field position, then that also makes sense on why they’re not allowing as many yards, correct? Can’t have a drive for 80 yards if you get the ball at the 50.
Well, if you insist on being bullheaded... I’ll take your bet that UM doesn’t hit their average for points or yards this week.

Look again. They've only lost one game all season by more than a TD. They are much improved, which should come as no surprise considering Ed Lamb's track record...
Come again?
Statistically, a good defense.
I know you are more of a stats guy but come on.
Look it up. Conference only and FCS only. Their overall stats are skewed by two FBS games.

What in the world are you talking about? I used conference stats like you requested, but I’m being bullheaded?! I’m using your criteria!

I also didn’t make a bet anywhere…I genuinely have no idea what you’re referring to.
