It is fun to revisit this thread. Looks like 99% of posters here said it would be a train wreck with this many transfers and that there would be no way to make them gel and be good. Well, Coach Hauck Must be one of the best coaches in all of the land then because he’s got them playing at a pretty high-level and they seem to be gelling just fine. In fact a bunch of his transfers are big-time contributors on both sides of the ball and helping Griz win games. Nice work here as usual.

Hmmm... are you seeing anything in my post saying the Griz would suck, or be a train wreck, or whatever? But it's all good - I hope you and the rest of Griz Nation continues to have an inflated view of just how good you are, because of beating up on bad teams. You have exactly TWO good teams on the schedule. You squeaked by one of them at home, and you'll see the other one at home in late November. If you're not undefeated heading into the brawl, then you will have had an embarrassing slip up along the way... total cream puff schedule and EIGHT home games. I will give a little credit however, so far it looks like Bobby does have all the new faces and drop downs playing pretty well together. That said, I watched the entire game Saturday and no way in hell that Griz team I watched would have beaten NDSU, SDSU, or MSU yesterday on a neutral field.

The writers and the coaches (both polls) rank the Griz higher than the Cats.

Is that good or bad?

It just is what it is. For whatever reason, sports writers and coaches rank the Griz ahead of the Cats. Thoughts on why?

Those pollsters must not watch the games very closely. I looked at egriz after the UND game and a number of your posters were saying that win was because of the refs. I will also add the UND coach missed out on two chip shot field goals that would have been the difference. Any neutral observer saw that UND was the better team.

What neutral observer said that? Until you produce him, I’ll trust the coaches and the writers.

They'll have a completely different, new team. I heard they'll have almost FIFTY new players, including all the transfer players and recruits. Will they better or worse than last year? Time will tell. Personally I think it's a huge challenge, uphill battle to bring in fifty new players and have them all gel and become a complete, championship caliber team.

Did you see what South Dakota State did to that mighty Mercyhurst you guys should be extremely embarrassed and quite concerned over that alone. You’re going on about the Griz strength the schedule for ****** sakes Mercyhurst and San Diego are ranked worse than a division 2 Central Washington team.

One of them said something like, I wasn't sold on Bobby's strategy this year but after watching them in person, I'm a big believer right now and the way they're playing they're gonna be a tough out for any team in the country. I just reminded him It's a long season and we'll see how everything looks after that last game in November.

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally on board with Cat and Griz fans both being optimistic about how their teams are playing right now. I just choose to temper expectations a bit and not convince myself it's all but a done deal we're going to end up in Nashville.

I’m sure Griz fans do the same to your fan base….but what is particularly funny about your post is it quite literally describes 90% of cats fans from last season….where you guys were going to easily win it all and no one else stood a chance….only to get obliterated in the national championship (a slip up as you call it). First half was a blowout. Then the Cats came back and cut it to 28-25 and had possession with a chance to tie or take the lead. They didn't. But that's the definition of a close game to everyone except you, apparently.
