But with so many moving FBS to FBS hard to see many open spots versus coming back to where you are sure starter.

Re: Transfer Portal
I suppose the FCS could come together and create some sort of new scholarship or contract, but every conference would have to be on board with it as it's not something that could be passed at the NCAA level.
If you want to play in the FCS, your contract is 2-3 years or something. There is a flip side to this though, you can't cut them. Or you are subject to the same buyout clause or whatever exists in the contract.
The FCS should start looking at unique ways to protect it's assets.

Imagine the price Andersen would have had in his head during all this?
Edit: I am speaking from the standpoint for FCS guys only.

True. I guess my point is, if Sluka is not hearing much McCoy probably isn’t, only positive I see is his age. Will be interesting to see what coaches are willing to take guys back.KIX wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:30 pmAgreetetoncat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 5:21 pmBut only throwing for 15 TD'S, in a dome 1/2 the time and Hatton as your main guy? Re: Transfer Portal
Idaho had better be looking for a place to get all that yardage back. That will hurt.

Just because it isn’t on Twitter doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.SparkCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:49 pmTrue. Re: Transfer Portal
This one doesn't seem as bad to me situation wise. Grad transfer existed before the portal.

Re: Transfer Portal
Fully understand that. Common sense can often prevail, and something tells me Sluka and McCoy will be sitting in the portal for some time, I even earlier mentioned that obviously not all their wheeling and dealing is public. But with never ending list of already more exceptional Qb’s in the portal, tells me they are just shooting their shot. I can see McCoy trying his shot at FBS, realizing that it’s no fun losing and finding his way back to FCS.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 7:19 pmJust because it isn’t on Twitter doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.SparkCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:49 pmTrue. But coaches can come and go! Employees in the “real world” can leave for a better job but student athletes can’t? These kids have a very small window to capitalize on their athletic capabilities, let them live!CelticCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:33 pmI suppose the FCS could come together and create some sort of new scholarship or contract, but every conference would have to be on board with it as it's not something that could be passed at the NCAA level.

Re: Transfer Portal
I mean some transfers are actually related to their education. It's quite possible Furman doesn't offer a masters program in his field of choice so he needs to play elsewhere.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:59 pmHead scratcher here. No disrespect intended, but he's not better than FCS.

Re: Transfer Portal
Utah went into this season as returning Pac 12 champs and a competitive Rose Bowl appearance without a single medically cleared QB on scholarship. I cant imagine thats super common, but Huff would clearly have had a backup spot there.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 6:59 pmHead scratcher here. But even more than that, he reminds me of Isaiah Ifanse. Dudes been at Furman for 5 years, he's 22 or 23. Probably wants to get a graduate degree from somewhere else.
MSU should offer him. He's tough as Tommy Mellot & a better passer (but slower). Seems like he would be a really good fit for what MSU is trying to do in its 2 QB system.
