Man, if you guys don't like those videos, you probably don't want to hear about the yearly MSU coaches clinics.
As Hi Line said, it is apples to oranges. As a coach who has been to those clinics, there are not opposition coaches in attendance. Do you think a Gris coach has ever attended an MSU coaches clinic?
The truth maybe that some people are okay with sharing your expertise with anyone, including your opposition. I am not. I have never played with or coached with anyone who would be okay with that.
How do we know those coaches attending the clinic aren't passing on the secrets to the Cat offensive and defensive schemes to the gris?
It's a little suspicious that Missoula has a coaches clinic the week after we have ours.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!
A quick youtube search will give you videos on Nick Saban talking for a hour on split safety coverages. Kirby Smart talking for an hour about building the Georgia program, with his Asst Coaches talking about how they play defense. And even a NDSU coach talking about their play-action concepts.

The clinic at zoo town was for the griz coaches and players. It was sponsored and taught by McDonald's kitchen trainers.

Apples to oranges, and I will be goddamned if you criticize any of the coaches on this site. People take it as you’re not a fan, so weird. Why can’t people be critical of this? It doesn’t make them less of a fan and it damn sure doesn’t make them unknowing of how the coaching world works. Good god some people on here would eat ****** if the coaches or anybody from MSU told them it was cake. Weird.
Being upset about this is a little like being upset about the forward pass, It has been going on for years, successful teams have clinics. The tapes are out there if you want to look for them, NDSU, Alabama, Clemson an many others that are successful running innovative offenses or defenses. There is tape out there of Joe Glen breaking down the bubble screen 20+ years ago, Stitt did tapes on the fly sweep. The only new thing is that we finally have a OC that other coaches what to learn from. I cant recall the team but last year Housewrite himself said that they went somewhere for ideas on the outside zone. He got it from somebody else and put his twist on it and implemented it.

What was the name of your Fantasy Football team at the time you attended these clinics?

Highly unlikely you have coached more than me. That is all you need to know.
And given your snide comment, I am trying to figure out how I could have posted in a more civil manner. I thought my comment was pretty straightforward and acknowledged others may feel differently. But then again, maybe you are just trying to be d1ck with your comment?
I can find playbooks from Saban, Smart, Pete Carroll, etc, online easily. ALL of these coaches do clinics every year where they go over their plays, how they do certain things, why they do certain things, etc. This isn’t groundbreaking news. You think other teams coaches don’t know what we’re running? Of course they know! Of course they know the keys! I get that football takes a lot of schematics, but it isn’t rocket science guys! It’s a talent, and execution game. Some of you are acting like Housewright invented all of this offense. He learned it from coaches who learned it from coaches. These guys share everything! They’ll go visit a campus to learn how one coach likes to run one play. It’s not top secret information.
Every team last year knew exactly what we were gonna do and only 2 teams (FBS #14 Oregon State and National Champion South Dakota State) could stop it. We could go online and explain every play in our playbook for all I care, almost nobody could stop us anyways

Not trying to be a Dick but dude your post makes you sound like a clown. All types of Coaches (high school, college , NFL) have been posting online , making Video tapes and passing out mini playbooks for 1/2 a century . Majority of the ones I have worked with and listen to will sit down with anyone and talk football.

Well you failed, because you were being a Dick. Geez man, I even acknowledged some people are okay with this.
And seriously dude, you don’t see a difference between “putting an x and o analysis of specific plays on the web for anyone to view” versus “attending a coaches clinic”?
Would those coaches you have “worked with” be willing to walk you through their plays if you are from a rival program? I certainly wouldn’t share information with them - especially a detailed breakdown of assignments and options. Heck maybe I am wrong... Next season I will skip film and just call them and ask questions. Maybe they will even let me attend their practice.

Might be time to take a break with the keyboard warrior schtick. We all know you are a die hard Bobcat fan, you've proven over the years that you love this program dearly - and that love goes far beyond any coach, coaching staff, player or position group - so much so that it blinds you at times.
This is one of those times.
Your opinion has been proven dead wrong by multiple examples. So maybe instead of continuing to argue - when your opinion is so clearly in the very miniscule minority - it might be best to make like Elsa and "Let It Go".
I've done that a lot more recently here, and it's been for the better.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Do you genuinely think other coaches don’t know what the QB is supposed to key on?

What do you think is more likely: everyone else is wrong or you're wrong? This doesn't just apply to this week's topic.
