I think it's fair to say their expectations are to get a seed again but not sure that is realistic or not. I think a lot of people are counting them out just because of Taylor, we'll see.
SDSU fans still jab MSU fans about the field conditions. Field conditions are a part of football perhaps more so than any other sport, but great teams can win no matter what and MSU did not handle them well. To say they didn't play a part is naive but also to use it as an excuse is putting some blinders on. That being said SDSU is likely in a tier alone but they haven't had a difference HC since 1996, how much will that factor in? SDSU was basically Sac State for years, having good to great regular season but falling flat in the playoffs until they finally broke through the last few years.

Yeah, that have a lot to replace , both QB's in a 2 QB system, one of the best running backs I have seen at this level and a stud LB, oh yeah they have a new first time HC too.Cataholic wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 5:42 pmHe was drafted in the third round to the New England PatriotsCommon Cat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 5:37 pmThat’s right. SAC is in a great location for recruiting and with their recent success I am sure they will have some good athletes coming up, but its still a tall task to maintain a spot in the top 10, I am just not convinced that they will be able to maintain that kind of ranking as the season goes on.

@Stanford, @Idaho, vs MSU, @um, @UCDavis
Not only do I think they will regress a bit but the schedule gets tougher. They hosted most of the better teams they played last year except Weber and dodged the Cats. I am higher on Idaho and Davis then them, not to mention MSU and Stanford. 1-4 or 2-3 in just those games isn't a far fetched prediction. So in other words a playoff team but they would have to get 1 more of those games to get to a seed. Are they good enough to win all of @ Idaho/gris/Davis? I don't think so. Maybe they beat the Cats and only need 2. I doubt that more.

There’s a bunch of Taylor Housewright videos on YouTube.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I agree seems odd, almost like he is putting himself out there for another job? The bigger question is, how does MSU let these videos be released using their logo? Seems like a video a former coach would put out, with intentions of starting an academy or something.

Definitely interesting....Is this a great recruiting tool to send to high school coaches and potential recruits? Does this put us at any sort of a competitive disadvantage? I assume Taylor is making some $$ off this and that MSU admin signed off on it. Is this becoming a common thing or is taylor one of the very few?Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:10 amI agree seems odd, almost like he is putting himself out there for another job? I haven't looked at the other videos from this channel but MSU is far from the only school represented. I assume it's a promotional tool for the team, more to recruit future coaches than players. The main reason people may think it's odd is the timing and the coach involved but if these videos were uploaded six months ago people would likely have no concerns.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:10 amI agree seems odd, almost like he is putting himself out there for another job? I watched this earlier today. I think that’s only the second time I’ve heard Pickering speak. I was kind of taken aback the first time I heard him speak because I didn’t expect his voice to be so deep.

These really bother me. He is breaking down our offense for anybody to see. He talks about keys, assignments, etc. This is not okay. The only excuse I could see is that we are not going to use these plays anymore.

You don't think our opponents haven't already broken these plays down?
I remember a few years ago I watched videos of NDSU coaches breaking down the Bison offense the same way. A gap power still works for them even when you know its coming.
It all about execution.

Definitely not why I think it’s odd. Not even close, I think it’s odd because he is a coach and he is breaking down MSU plays. That is why I think it’s odd. Still can’t believe MSU signed off on it.coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:24 amI haven't looked at the other videos from this channel but MSU is far from the only school represented. Re: Offseason Random Stuff - 2023
You’re kidding yourself if you think a break down for anybody doesn’t help, execution or not. He literally says the play and scheme. You watch some of those videos and if you’re a good coach execution doesn’t matter, because you will now know both of the options. Not a good look at all.cats2506 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2023 8:53 pmYou don't think our opponents haven't already broken these plays down?
