"I also read an article that was about the possibility of the next lawsuit being players suing the NCAA about the 4 year eligibility rule. Basically suing the NCAA for preventing them from making money by playing more years. All of this is fascinating...in a bad way."
Wait, so they want to stay in college longer than 4 years so they can keep playing sports that now pays them to play? So will we now see a lawsuit challenging eligibility based on grades? Because if they're a bad student that shouldn't impede their opportunity to play sports if they're a good athlete, especially when they can get paid big bucks to do it. What a train wreck. Isn't the NCAA the National
College Athletics Association? College (school) comes before athletics in that title. This is a school sport, not the pros. Clearly we've lost sight of that. Sigh.
I agree...but the point was that anyone who wants to stay in college for, say, 10 years can. So why is the NCAA limiting their playing eligibility, especially now that they can make big bucks playing. It's a very slippery slope.
Extremely slippery. 30 year old players? Why should the NFL or any pro sport even exist if they can do it all in college? Stupid.
The unlimited eligibility thing won’t happen because most fans don’t want to watch a 32 year-old QB with two kids and a mortgage representing the university. Even if it becomes ‘legal,’ I don’t see it as a major issue as fans turn on the player for taking playing time away from a 19 ear-old. I do think the NIL market is still correcting and if players get smart they will now unionize and hold out for multi-year NIL contracts, at least at the P2 level. It’s where this is heading so it’s either embrace the change or give up being a fan.
I don't know, everyone seemed to love Chris Weinke's story. But he started his eligibility clock at 25, it's not like he had been playing at FSU for 5 years already.
Can you imagine if a player just played college football for 12 years, taking classes and making more money than most new college grads?

I really hope we have offered Dylan Rollins. Would be a huge addition to our o-line.

That will be an interesting one. I think he may be looking for an FBS offer but you never know for sure. He certainly has a family connection to MSU.

I want to collect all your posts about Dylan Rollins you've dropped the past two years wanting him to commit or transfer here. I love your commitment and I think I'll jump on board so we can manifest this thing.
Dylan...I here we have a solid offensive line development program here at MSU!

I haven’t seen any ndsu players in portal today. They must’ve raised a bunch of money??
Griz landed a good OL from Cal.
Funny enough, he didn’t play at Cal partly because of TJ Sessions.
And now Cal upgraded the gris departure with Rush Reimer.
