MuAmmar Ali vs Aaron Mason

Post by Vikepower » Wed Oct 04, 2006 12:35 pm

I think when this game has been played and won (by PSU of course) the fans probably would have wittness a great running show put on by your own Aaron Mason and our New Mexico state transfer running back MuAmmar Ali he has yet to play this year due to a fractured shoulder. He was named by two Magazines pre-season All-American for 2006. He was a D-1A sophmore All-American while at NMSU hes 5'8" 200 lbs 10.3 100 meters at nationals 2 years ago 4.31/forty this past spring. In the spring and summer pratices he showed amazing Berry Sanders like moves. If you all remeber a player we had about 6 years ago name Charles Dunn hes alot like him. Montanas coach said he was more concerned about Ali being able to play last week then or Qb Sawyer.

Fractured shoulder? Ouch! Did he sustain that in preseason? Can we expect him and Mr. Smith out on the field this Saturday?

Seems like it could be a good set up for both RBs. Just when you think that, though, both teams will throw for 400 probably.

Montana State IS what "they" think Montana is.

Ali and Smith

Post by Vikepower » Wed Oct 04, 2006 1:40 pm

Ali got hurt in the secound week of camp during a scrimmage he has yet to play in a game for us. Smith is questionable for this saturday but the new transfer from Colorado Brian White who brought us back against Montana is actually better. He was the starter at Colorado during the spring and summer before Coach Hawkins demoted him which led to the transfer.

I think you've got two very good QB's there. But, if I had to pick which one I would rather have on the field, it would have to be White. The only reason I say that is with only two weeks into his PSU career, I can't imagine how he would know the offense as well as Smith. And, that translates into a lot of vanilla and potential mis-communications in my thinking.

And Cat fans are hoping we get at least 1-2 mis-communications this week :) I agree, Smith has good talent I agree but he will make mistakes early until he learns the system. I am actually hoping we see Smith in there.

Sawyer Smith the starter? Or, Brian White the CU transfer? Just double checking. :)

Yes Smith is the starter White is the transfer. White played in a simular system to ours at colorado last year the only difference is the terminolgy thats why he was able to step in last week and perform so well. White compliments MuAmmar Ali better then Smith.

So who is starting? I posted in another thread that this is still Smith's team. Is Smith healthy though?

They have a very nice new one. Still pretty new so not alot of activity there, but it appears to be picking up steam.

Any chance of adding that link to BN this week. I like to have all of the message boards just a click away.

Updated. Probably get slammed by the psu fan that set up that board as he has been asking me to add it for a couple months now. Better late than never I guess.

Enough already. I've read this way too many times this week. Brian White did not start against the Cats. James Cox played against the Cats.
