On a completely unrelated note......I went over to egriz because I have never been there.....WWWWWOOOOOWWWWW.....I see why ya'll passionately hate the griz fans. The level of inaccuracy, audacity, and reckless talking is ASTOUNDING. I read maybe one thread and was like "yeah i got to go....now". Some of their takes are mind blowing, like I can't believe they actually believe some of the things they say....oh and the level of rudeness they treat each other when they disagree.....there is no way I would ever suggest a player or child of mine to go to into that type of environment.....wow...I'm glad I ride with the better of the two schools.

We're glad you ride here too! Certainly BN has it's moments, like on the gameday thread sometimes lol, but the few times I've gone over to egriz I can feel myself losing brain cells. That place is a train wreck!

Many of us Griz fans have wanted a tighter grip against that type of behavior for a very long time, but that ship has already sailed.

Anyway, super happy for Carson. He deserves it. My kids were already rooting for Indiana, and we'll be big fans going forward.

Egris is basically the shadowlands described in the lion king. You must never go there

Does anyone know if we're in the mix for any DL or Secondary players from the portal? I haven't seen anything about additions yet.

Not much info so far but I'm sure the coaches are working on it. Expect them to be highly selective in their offers since there simply aren't many spots on the roster that are open to be filled right now. I haven't been on social media for a few years now but a good way to see who the coaches have interest in is to see which players they start following on Twitter/X. And if Coach Vigen starts following a player you know there's a high level of interest.

This is and has always been very simple.

People need to understand that no matter what Jhase does, BBT is going to tell us that it is the most awesome, wonderful, perfect thing that a player could do. Because he’s not a Bobcat fan; he’s a fan of one player who was here for two years.

BBT needs to understand that the rest of us are actually fans of the team rather than expecting the whole forum to be the Jhase McMillan fan club.
Several things

1. Yes I'm a huge fan of the kid. I came here because of that kid and the potential I saw in him years ago. That block proved me right. He has always shown up in big time situations.

2. I literally could careless if you or anyone else becomes or is a fan of his. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. This is a cool board I like talking football and it's actually kinda fun doing it here. Because yall love football too. You and others have made comeback that are untrue about the kid and his family abs while they may feel it isn't worth speaking on I'll do it for them.

3. Jhase wasn't assured of a starting job next year... he started every game but the qtrs and semis THIS year. He graded out the highest, per his dad, every week. Yeah he would've been starting next year because he stayed pretty much every game this year.

4. I never said money didn't play a factor in the decision. I said it wasn't the DRIVING FORCE. I mentioned the money because it's inevitable and it IS a factor, but again to say it was THE factor is a flat out lie... coming from his dad.

Take the time to talk to the coaches about Jhase. That kid did EVERYTHING right while he was here. Fully invested, never missed a practice, if he missed workouts he made then up on his own, first in the meeting room, last to leave, sit in the front row, never missed a day of class, etc. I can tell you straight up you've got guys that are in the portal and still on the team that weren't as committed as he was. His family felt there were opportunities for a better situation for him so they sought it out and found it. You don't have to like it, I could careless. You can try to disparage his name and make him seem like money hungry troll, fine do that, it's your right. I'm here simply to say you're wrong. He isn't money hungry he's a young man with a smart family that wants the best for him and ucla is what was best for him right now. That family had nothing but great things to say about msu, the players, the coaches and the fans so yeah it kind of sucks for kid who is quiet doesn't do social media hardly at all and produced at a high level for your school to have shots taken at him about his level of loyalty and integrity.
Thanks BBT. I wish I could read this about every athlete. He stands on his own merits. No need to disparage the commitment of other players. I'm choosing to ignore that part. There are plenty of these kids to be celebrated, but often no one is there to put a spotlight on them. I’ll take as many Jhace’s as possible. Knowing he worked hard at school makes me happy that he will always have that special kick block as a reward.

I know that we don't need much in the portal right now, but it would be nice to land some proven FCS ballers. Are there any remaining FCS All Americans that won't graduate this year and haven't been swooped up by FBS yet?

I'm completely against tampering, but it sure would be nice to get a guy like that Yale WR, or that 6'1" freakshow Junior DB Mayo that balled out against us from SFA. That guy was 2nd team All American and it showed.

I'd be all for going after those type of guys because of their proven elite FCS production, but obviously only if they are in the portal. I think they are more valuable than the FBS drop downs, but much harder to land! Maybe the appeal of being Title favorites could entise them?

Nico Brown (the Yale WR) has visited UCLA, Michigan State, and Duke so clearly there's almost no chance for MSU to bring him in. Jalen Mayo of SFA has already signed with Houston. In theory I agree about bringing in quality FCS players but I feel like most of those guys are going to want to go FBS.

If you want good FCS guys, you almost have to look at poor teams. The LB from PSU that went to UM for example. MSU is probably more apt to be looking for FBS players that have been at a program but haven't seen the field yet due to getting beat out ala Bryce Sterk and Amandre Williams out of UW.

MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Yeah that certainly has been the montra for years here, and we can't knock them for it. Going after drop downs every year has worked wonders for us. I just thought it would be cool if we got some other "Rohan Jones" types of guys to mix it up a bit.

Seeing some of the great individual talent across the field from us over the years has made me wonder if it would ever be possible to get some of those ballers to come play for us. Obviously, the NIL landscape has thrown a huge wrench into things, but you gotta think some of those guys that come and play in Bobcat Stadium think to themselves "Boy I wish I was playing for this school right now!". They come in to our stadium to win, but some of them must leave being jealous of what we got going on right now. I'm just surprised we don't see more of those types of guys try to transfer to us.

Whatever Vigen and Co has planned for this offseason, I am all for it. I think loyalty of the incoming transfers might be a big factor for them. Maybe that is the reason we don't see as many FCS to FCS transfers for us. Anyways, it should be fun to see who comes in this year.

I think it is as simple as that is the most used color.

To provide a comprehensive view of the colors in college football, see here for a dataset of 211 teams, including all 134 FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) programs and a broad representation of FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) programs. The following summary categorize these teams by their official primary color hex codes.

The most dominant colors in Division I football are Red and Blue, accounting for nearly 65% of all teams.

Primary Color Group Total Teams Percentage
Red / Maroon / DARK PINK 69 32.7%
Blue / Navy 67 31.8%
Green 23 10.9%
Purple 21 10.0%
Orange 10 4.7%
Black 7 3.3%
Gold 6 2.8%
Yellow 5 2.4%
Brown 3 1.4%

Kinda wish we'd see a few more "I'm staying" posts. Thinking no news is likely good news but still. Just saw Gillman posted he's staying in grizland. Happy about Taco for sure, as well as Carr, but I remember last year, after a bunch portal jumped, a whole pile of Cats posted that they were staying. That just made everyone feel better. Of course last year was alot different than this year since we lost so many seniors too. Maybe after the team meeting Wednesday.
