I went over to their fan forum to snoop on their perspective. Getting some Bill and Mary vibes from their posters.

I get that. But, why wouldn’t they believe they can win it all?

They should be optimistic of a win. However, when they say stuff like we either got blown out or blew out teams this year, and that our front 4 aren’t very productive, tell me some of them just talk out their ass. We were blown out by the team playing in the Orange Bowl today and lost in double overtime to an extremely healthy SDSU. Their comparative evaluations of common opponents are fairly inaccurate too.

I like the comparative that they lost to YSU who blew a big lead to Yale who Cats beat in playoffs. Also they gave up 550 yds to UCD.

I wonder what mental gymnastics they will use if Oregon loses today.

In my struggle for significance due to the fact that I live in a place with no competition and only good scenery, but being brave enough due to the fact, I come from the larger university of the two and in my moment of weakness, I decided to make some posts over there. :-^

“Moldy Page” seems a little grumpy. Maybe it’s just his age. But there are some good posters over there.

Oh crap I just figured out we have a smaller university by about 5000 total. Dammit I hate it when I’m wrong.!
:-k

In all sincerity, gonna be a heck of a football game I do think we can win by two scores if we find the right matchups if we don’t, it’s gonna be a dog fight

In breaking news beings it is the first of a new year. I insisted that my therapist give me a call back. He did say if I wanted to raise myself and eliminate the problems I had in 2025 that the best thing I could do is move to Illinois And through increased competition just for survival I would find myself

This is good posting ^ They have a few good posters on their forum, but otherwise they seem pretty bent on talking crap about MSU. It's not a very active forum, and I typically go on opponents message boards to get a feel for the game and learn about the team some. They don't seem too interested in learning about the MSU program or having discourse with Cats fans and instead are focusing on their disadvantages. I've found it odd more than anything.

It’s funny reading comments from a fan base trying to pound their chests about the state of Illinois. Isn’t it just Chicago and Pig Farms? ‘We may not beat them in this game, but at least we live in Illinois’, said no one ever. I’d much rather have a great college to cheer for and the great outdoors to play in.

I’ve traveled to Chicago frequently over the last 30ish years and the Chicago of even 2010 does not exist anymore. The Magnificent Mile is now dirty with closed storefronts and there aren’t nearly the people downtown anymore there used to be just milling about during evenings.

Illinois State is in Normal, which my only recollection of is literal brown air and some weird yellow dust coating things sometime in the mid-2000s. Nothing at all exceptional about that town.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

What a ride

Not there. It goes from University of Missouri to University of Nebraska.
