I loved it when he bottled up that long haired freak of an athlete from over the hill. JLM? Wasn’t Okada a sophomore that year in Bozeman?
Who is JLM?

Pretty sure that was the year we played in Missoula and Troy was hurt. I recall Okada being a huge part of our win in neutralizing JLM.
That was the 48-14 beatdown in Bozeman, not Missoula.
Ahh!! So many victories over the Gris that I have a hard time keeping track of them!!

Who is JLM?
Jerry Louie-McGee. He was the diminutive, shifty fellow with long hair.

JLM played for the Gris during the Choate years and as such, he went 0-4 during his time in Stinktown (2016-2019). I don't think @rfischer94 was a Bobcat fan in 2019... :D

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I believe so. Planted him right into the turf like a lawn dart.
One of my favorite Cat/gris memories of all time. At this point it was only a 7-point lead for us and they were going for it on 4th and 6.

Love it! Thanks for pulling that clip. I remember the hit. JLM was considered a dangerous receiver and these hits kinda took the ooomfa out of him a bit.

If I recall correctly, that was 3rd down. Something like 3rd and 5, so it should have been an easy conversion but it was thrown a skosh behind him instead in front of him. Also, for those who aren't too familiar with JLM, I believe he has some gris offensive records. He was a legit threat with the ball.

It was 4th and 6 in the second quarter and Okada kept it to a 3 yard gain. Cats were leading 17-0 at the time. I have the game on my computer.

I almost felt sorry for that kid. The griz fanboy media types hyped him up so much that he had a huge target on his back. He was an okay player who feasted on weak competition, but the Bobcats just beat the snot out of him. But that's what they do over there and they don't realize they're not doing their heros any favors.

It’s amazing that an out-of-state MSU player who paid his own way for two seasons until getting a scholarship ended up starting for one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Lots of “experts” missed on Ty starting back in high school.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

Unfortunately, yes. I do have a couple of external hard drives filled with various game high lights, complete games, and game photos though. I used to save more high light stuff and photos than I do now. Cat-gris games are a bit different. I’ll save everything I can get my hands on for Cat-gris wins.

Heck, I'd hang out for as long as I could at an NFL practice squad salary. I'm sure there are some other bennies as well.

Practice Squad Salary
Players with two or fewer seasons will be paid $12,500 per week in 2024.
I think this might have been addressed before, but I'm pretty sure that's not just game weeks. I think it's camp, bye weeks, playoffs, maybe OTA's? Pretty easy to get to 24 weeks, which gets you a cool $300k.
The $12,500 per week is only during the regular season for Practice Squad players. During training camp and the preseason, all players (whether you're Patrick Mahomes or the last undrafted guy on the roster) make a set amount per week of $3200 for veterans and $1850 for first year players. $3200 per week is still pretty good especially considering that teams are required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement to provide housing for their players during camp.
Good to know...thanks for the info!
Still probably 250k.
And the NFL has a two to one matching contribution to the players 401k with a 19,500 player max contribution. That's another amazing deal.
What a deal. After 40 years of compounding, you will have a sweet retirement.

Over $5 million at 10%
Over $2.5 million at 8%
