This will be for literally all the marbles. Assuming the winner wins the natty, this literally couldn’t get any bigger. If we win, we put an exclamation point on dominating the Gris, throw our hat in the ring for a potential run that can challenge NDSU, and have something to hold onto forever. If the Gris win, we can kiss all these notions of being the better program goodbye. They will have won a championship before us during the “golden age” of MSU football. They will forever attract the best transfers, and Gris fans will literally NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT IT. This is an incredibly large game. I have a bowling ball in my stomach. I hope we bring our A game. Otherwise, these past 2 years will be both the best teams and the most bitter endings in my memory.

Wow doom and gloom. It will mean they beat the Cats in 1 game and a split for the season. Cats didn't really go after same # of transfers so don't think it will impact that. Might say something about senior laden transfer team vs young mostly HS recruited team. And to say they are the better program based on that is ridiculous

I’m simply stating what I perceive the stakes are, not the odds of us losing or winning. Also, my post is under the assumption that the winner of brawl 2.0 wins the natty. I think we’d all be on the same page that would be an absolute disaster. And just as big of a boon on the other end. If Bobby and Co get a championship before us in the golden age of Bobcat football, that’s an absolute disaster. But if we win…boy oh boy.

You think that if we lose a home semi to our in state rival and they win a national championship, that won't impact the in-state recruiting battle or who will want to come here as opposed to go there? Interesting. I guess we do disagree, and I'm pretty sure the facts are not on your side. Where did we get White? Wasn't that cuz we went to Frisco? I'm ok to agree to disagree, but winning championships absolutely effects recruiting. If we win a championship, that's good for recruiting for us and bad for them. If they win a championship, that's good for recruiting for them, and bad for us. Surprised that's controversial.

When the rivalry focuses on portal transfers, yes I don't think it will impact HS recruits. If Cats had lost at UM, were not in semi 5 of last 6 years, not multiple time Big Sky Champs it might. But as a recruiter you are either telling a kid they can get you over the hump, or can keep you at top and both are effective.

I think there will be alot of focus this week about how Cat- Griz was only a 3 point win. It could have easily been a 10 point win but Vigen chose to take a knee. The announcers of the griz game today said something to the effect that after talking to, I'm assuming Bobby, that the griz had that game won other than the pick and the blocked FG. The entitlement that exists over there, and bleeds into the media, is just gross.
I'm thinking it could be another really close game, but I'm hoping we return to the blowout win at home that we've done a few times. They just need to be shut up.

No matter what happens, we keep the great divide. the only thing that changes is the historical record. like NDSU/SDSU, whoever won those games in the ploffs kept their trophy even if they lost.

Gris have had 10 home games and 4 on the road. They have not played in any kind of hostile, extremely loud environment like Bobcat Stadium will be. It’s gonna be off the hook, out of control Saturday. Lamson handled the noise and pressure in Wa-Panda beautifully. Will Ah Yat be able to deal with it? We will see - but if we get some pressure on him early, I wouldn’t be surprised if some serious unraveling occurs. Gotta get after them early and prevent them from gaining early momentum. Totally unlike what South Dakota did.

We already beat the griz in Missoula where they have a significant home field advantage. The scoreboard said we won by 3 points but everyone on both sides knows the margin of victory was more than that. Now we get to play at home with an extra day of rest and prep. Bobbi will pull out all the stops so we have to anticipate anything and everything. We have a lot to clean up from yesterday and the last two games but we shouldn't have much trouble winning by double digits.

Well... is it really relevant?

I mean, the Griz play in the Mecca of FCS football. Like seriously, fans make spiritual pilgrimage from all over the football caliphates. Maroon-clad novitiates bow in worship around a silver, cubic building while chanting "There is no mascot but Monte, and Bobby is his prophet."

By comparison, Bobcat Stadium doesn't even have a chapel.

We are the more athletic team across the board. All we need to do is not make dumb mistakes. We have to clean up the false starts, how about going on silent count or watch the friggin ball. Cut out the pis and bad red zone coverage. If we just play our game we win. Won't be easy and um will have some new wrinkles but I feel they are so arrogant they won't change much. Hold our nerve, just play like normal and we're fine b is really hard to beat the same team twice in a season but we ARE the better team, just go prove it.
