no booing
I was disappointed at all of the booing last week. I was especially mad when the crowd cheered loudly when Jefferson came out. Ya he dropped some balls but he was playing on probably his first cold weather day ever. If Mike is reading this I still think you can be the best reciever in the Big Sky.
I would think that nothing would demoralize a team like it's own fans booing.

I agree about the booing. To me, it sounds like a lot of it is coming from the crazier part of the student section (but not from guys like Celtic and longhorn, and so on), but I could be wrong about this. As fans, we should support our team no matter what, and it serves absolutely no purpose to build the confidence of the players and the team. So I won't be booing, unless the refs really blow it.
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

Re: no booing
Nothing pisses me off more than 'fans' booing players. It has become common at wa/griz, but we're above that at Bobcat Stadium.MSUcantouchus wrote:I was disappointed at all of the booing last week. Booing at ****** calls by the Big Sky refs is a whole different subject.

Some dip$hit near me on the student side was screaming until he was hoarse....belittling players and thrashing coaches every chance he got. I'll admit the game was upsetting, but not as upsetting as hearing what was coming out of his mouth. I thought he would leave after it was clear the Cats were not going to win, but he felt the need to stay and continue yelling has a$$ off. I won't put up with that crap anymore.
On a happier note, let's cheer on the Cats to a win tomorrow

The upside is the Bobcat student/athlete was on the field. The drunk/flunky who didn't make the dart team because was bowling is the one making the noise.Fat Cat wrote:Some dip$hit near me on the student side was screaming until he was hoarse....belittling players and thrashing coaches every chance he got. No offense intended to those of us who throw darts, or bowl (golf, shoot pool, etc.).

gokatz,
evidently you haven't been at very many Grizzly football games. I have been attending these for the past 12 years and I don't recall booing any of the student athletes. The refs need the wake up call quite often and so does our coaching staff. But as a rule, we support the players 100%. They are out there playing as hard and the best that they can play. you can't ask for anything more!!
Please think about what you are really saying before you blurt out you next biassed thoughts.
As for myself and most of the fans I am around, we heckle the opposition at Wa/Griz, but when the game is over, we congratulate the teams for graciously allowing us to win.

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.
I have plenty of talent and vision. I just don't give a damn.

You must not have read my whole statement. I was there at the game and yes we were booing, but not the players -- the play calling!! It was pretty sad last year when we were so predictable that even my 11 year old son was asking why we don't run something that's different??
With the weapons we have this year, it should be much different

last week a couple sat behind me and my father and ripped on the team the entire game. I wanted to turn around and punch them both in the head. It is one thing to mumble and grumble, but to non-stop bitch, all the way to the end of the game was ridiculus.
my kids have only been to two games. beings that they were this year, they are having a hard time cheering for the CATS, but the do know that they will never be
griz fans
. so I guess we have that going for us.

Yeah, this "our fanbase is the very model of classy quality, but yours isn't as evidenced by..." shyte never gets old.
Some of your fans boo when your team sucks, just like some do in Wa/Griz, gang. Accept it.

Boo-ing sucks, period. I disagree with the Grizzly Fan who said we never boo players in Washington-Grizzly Stadiuum. We do, the incoming team, our guys in a bad play and it's disgusting.
Having said that, having ventured to your house every odd year since 1995, I've got to inform you that disgraceful conduct in Bozeman takes the First Prize Ribbon. I'm 66 years old and think I've earned some small bit of respect from folks in a stadium - not in Bozeman though. My friends quit coming there with me on our bi-annual trek because of it, particularly from students, but not always. I will not be intimidated and come as long as I can still walk.
I sit right across the isle from the visiting team in Washington-Griz and, whether they are Bobcat or Hornet I hug on them and congratulate them on good plays, etc. Try it. It build comradery with the visitor and more appreciation for the game itself.
Come on Cats, get up off your death bed and play some football.
