Tootell is a great listen even if I disagree with some of the things he says. He is incredibly engaging.

Tootell sounds like he wants to cry.

Pretty good assessment other than I am not sure about the Cats getting every break and key call. He mentions them not recovering Davis fumble. Gillman fumble flew out of bounds and Wortham fumble would have completely changed the 3rd quarter if Cats recover. Haven't seen penalty stays but seemed like more against Cats. Hold before half led to 58 yd FG vs closer attempt and false start on 1st drive cost TD possibly.
This is more content that is not intended for Bobcat fans. It's for crying griz fans that need talking points going into the playoffs. Tootell is pathetic. If Colter wants to put out post-game content he and his brother need to do it, not outsource it to their friend.
We are just two people. We had to do thousands of photos, videos, audio, podcast of the presser, edit the stories, social media last night and into this morning. We will do a podcast tomorrow. I'm sorry you don't like Tootell. Not everybody is for everybody. He works for us and wanted to contribute content so we said great.

We will have plenty of content about the game from us as well as our other analysts this week.
You have nothing to apologize for Colter. You do a bang up job!

Yep. The coverage of the Cats is top tier.
Back in the day we'd be lucky to get a few snippets for every 10 griz articles. Colter has been a blessing for Bobcat media coverage.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

I don’t know how to do an @Colter Nuanez (sp)….. It sounds like a “you say po-Tate-o and I say po-tah-to” thing…

Very much this. While it's rare that I don't agree with everything Colter says, he does an excellent job. We are fortunate for the coverage.

Skyline did a fantastic job in their coverage of Cat griz! As usual.

Even the Tripp video. As I mentioned, I'm not a fan of his, but after Colter posted what a great conversation it was, i gave it a listen and I really did enjoy it.

Thanks @Colter_Nuanez !

Along those lines, I thought Tripp did a nice job on Saturday. He and Ty both were very complimentary of both teams, and he seemed much more sober than Marty. I've heard some gris fans complaining that the broadcast was pro-MSU, but I think every fan base says that, especially when they're losing. Ty got pretty fired up a couple times, but I think he was just trying to add a little energy to that play-by-play guy who seemed pretty monotone on big plays for either team.

Ty has more experience so a few times Tripp got talked over and then tried to get his point in quick. I have never thought Ty was a Homer. He respects Vigen and the program and lives there. He also has enough ties to Griz and Big Sky to bring that expertise as well.

Agree on all fronts. Skyline did an amazing job. I especially enjoyed the interview with JP Flynn.

Also the TV crew did a great job as well. Ty and Jordy have really good chemistry.....far different from when Drunk Uncle was interrupting everyone in previous years.

Watching the broadcast right now as I make my radio show...just a whole sale upgrade. Really tremendous job by those guys. Ty and Jordy are awesome together.

Agreed. While I didn't love Tripp when he played for the gris, he was great in the booth on Saturday. Hearing both he and Ty add so much insightful analysis was really cool. I'm also thankful that we have Ben in our booth.

As for the gris fans whining about a Cat-biased crew, lowut?! You have the normal gris play-by-play guy, a former gris player, and a coach who was on staff for nearly two decades! The only thing going for the Cats was Ty's short stint as DC and his color commentary. Hard to think, in any fashion, that things were stilted to the Cats.

On the whole, this crew was such an upgrade over gris crews of the past. Well done to Scripps!

I love Tootell. He and Leo Davis are the best. Fun to listen to and they know how to engage people.
The episode with Tootell is my favorite every week!

I thought it was good from his perspective. Somebody else’s opinion usually doesn’t scare me much. It was a subjective look at facts. I mostly agree with. Good teams find a way to get bounces to go their way. Look at the win by North Dakota State against Youngstown State. They were practically outplayed, but managed to win. We outplayed Montana, but they found a way to stay in the game.(KA)

My issue was he made it sound like only reason Cats won is they got all the breaks. If he watched the game that isn't the case. He mentioned Griz didn't fall on Davis fumble butler out the 2 Griz fumbles they recovered. The Wortham one after half could would have shifted whole dynamic of 3rd quarter.

I Tootelly agree. One thing he said a couple weeks ago with Colter, that is just completely wrong was he said that the more points a team scores the more opportunities their opponent get to score. I would be very willing to make some wagers on that with him. All the same I always look forward to listening to him and Colter talk.

I agree. He’s one of my favorite listens and I don’t understand the criticisms here or just flat out disagree.
Did you listen to his postgame?
I did. It was great. But I guess I am not sensitive about him seeing it as a fan sometimes. Gregorak was ticking me off during the game but soon swung the other direction.

You know saying RUN.THE.DAMN.BALL. over and over again at the end made thousands of griz fans go ballistic. :D

Showing pressure on fourth down in overtime. They bring pressure. Lamson throws...Endzone! Caught! TOUCHDOWN!!! Taco Dowler!
And a kick away from a championship.
Here we go. Miles Sansted. Snap, hold, kick, Up, GOOOOD!! FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I thought Tripp did a fine job. I remember his field antics when he was a player and his perceived hatred for all things Bobcat, but clearly he's grown as a person. Had some really good insights on defensive calls and positioning.
The play-by-play guy's voice was elevated every time the Griz did something well, but that's expected. He's been calling their games all year. I was just glad it wasn't Marty. =D^

I have not read many criticisms of him overall on this thread. Mostly some things within his comments about the past game. My point is if he wants to do that as a fan, fine then do as your own podcast. It was pushed out under Colters stuff. For me that should be a game recap, not a fan perspective. I would say the same thing about beat reports of the local TV and newspapers. While they cover a team their job at that point is to give a summary. If Skyline or Colter wanted a fan perspective promote it that way and maybe add in Rider or some from Cats side. I thought his analysis was off base due to viewing it that way.

MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).
