The best news of all is MSU winning yesterday and getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs. If MSU can take advantage and make another run to Nashville then those FBS schools with openings once again likely aren't going to want to wait until mid-January to get a new coach in place. Especially with the removal of the Spring portal window.

you don't think if the money was right he could say no? Not sure I could fault him if he got the right offer.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 8:12 amThe best news of all is MSU winning yesterday and getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs. This! I just think Vigen is too loyal to his guys and too determined to win a NC. I don't think he'll bale on this team. If the other schools will wait on him, maybe, but if they won't he'll stay. He's got two sons on the team too and though money is nice, he's building a stellar program at MSU and that must mean something. It's not always about the money, especially if you and your family are happy.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 8:12 amThe best news of all is MSU winning yesterday and getting home field advantage throughout the playoffs. I don't think he'll leave just for money. He's not going to bail on the team to join Oregon State, even with a sharp raise. He might leave early for a good program that got their own coach poached but not for a rebuild.justafan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 10:43 amyou don't think if the money was right he could say no? I honestly can't see him bailing on MSU during a playoff run, no.justafan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 10:43 amyou don't think if the money was right he could say no? Is OSU going to pay him $3-4 million a year?

Re: Vigen Oregon State rumors.
OSU is a major rebuild job. No way no how the new coach is making any of the incentives in the first few years...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Looks like 2-3 finalists will interview this week and they want to announce within a couple days after their last game Sat.

I’d absolutely hate to see Coach Vigen move on but completely understand if he did for an opportunity like that. With that said….Maybe Troy Taylor or Ed Lamb would be possible replacements…I’d most certainly be happy with either.

Why not anyone currently on staff? Kind of how NDSU and SDSU have done.

Re: Vigen Oregon State rumors.
I don’t know how coaching interviews work or take place, but why would Vigen fly commercial into Portland and then have to drive to Corvallis? Wouldn’t Oregon state fly him privately into Corvallis? If he’s flying commercial I could see it as he’s just over there recruiting but again, I have no clue.

I'd guess the OSU people drove to Portland and conducted the interview there.LoggerCat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 9:51 pmI don’t know how coaching interviews work or take place, but why would Vigen fly commercial into Portland and then have to drive to Corvallis? Thats what I thought. Even if you were flying commercial, you'd fly to Eugene which is an hour closer.LoggerCat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 23, 2025 9:51 pmI don’t know how coaching interviews work or take place, but why would Vigen fly commercial into Portland and then have to drive to Corvallis? Re: Vigen Oregon State rumors.
Maybe Vigen was interviewing for the Portland State job.
I'll show myself out now.
