Hard to disagree! There’s been a ton of Gris politicking for their players. And, they didn’t get it done today.

Re: OPY, DPY, NOY
Caden's competition for DPOY will likely be former Bobcat commit Mikey D'Amato of Cal Poly, who is leading the conference in tackles by a very wide margin and also has 6 sacks to be near the top of the conference there too. It depends if the voters look purely at stats or if Caden wins out through how impactful he has been to MSU's success during the last month of the season.

How many pick 6s does he have?MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 7:10 pmCaden's competition for DPOY will likely be former Bobcat commit Mikey D'Amato of Cal Poly, who is leading the conference in tackles by a very wide margin and also has 6 sacks to be near the top of the conference there too. Zero, I would assume. I'd vote for Caden too but I'm just saying I don't think this is the slam dunk choice we think it is. I'll be shocked if Lamson doesn't win OPOY after today though.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 7:16 pmHow many pick 6s does he have?MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 7:10 pmCaden's competition for DPOY will likely be former Bobcat commit Mikey D'Amato of Cal Poly, who is leading the conference in tackles by a very wide margin and also has 6 sacks to be near the top of the conference there too. He had some big games, but he also had a lot of games where he was non existent. Wonder how that will factor in.

Re: OPY, DPY, NOY
Cal Poly is going to finish the season in a 4-way tie for 2nd to last in the conference. Hard to give DPOY to a guy from the 2nd worst team over a guy on the conference championship team. I suppose he could be valuable enough that without him they only win 1 conference game instead of 2 though.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 7:19 pmZero, I would assume. Re: OPY, DPY, NOY
He shouldn't as OPY. That should not include his return yards. Statistically he isn't top. Lately hasn't had nearly impact on games as 1st half of season. Didn't play against 3rd best team and was average today.

Agree. Lot of D stats available when you are losing games and D is on field a lot.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 7:25 pmCal Poly is going to finish the season in a 4-way tie for 2nd to last in the conference. Re: OPY, DPY, NOY
Wortham only has 80 yards more than Taco. He actually has fewer catches than Taco. Heck, Wortham barely cracks the Top 10 in yards, hes #19 in yards per catch, barely top 10 in total catches.
Wortham is really good, don't get me wrong. But hes not even close to the best receiver in the conference. (He might not be the best receiver in the state). If hes not the best receiver in the conference (I think it's Gbutu or Shulikov) he certainly isn't OPOY.
Hes arguably the best return man in the conference. But hes barely Top 10 for OPOY IMO.

Having seen Gbutu and Shulikov, I would agree with you. They are both good receivers.onceacat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 8:16 pmWortham only has 80 yards more than Taco. Shulikov does a lot more with a lot less talent around him.lutecat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 22, 2025 8:27 pmHaving seen Gbutu and Shulikov, I would agree with you. Wortham is working with a really good QB (I'd say all conference HM) and a great RB (1st team). He should be doing a whole lot more.
