People are awfully sour considering that the Cats just covered a 19 point spread against a top 10 team.
I for one am thrilled! Slow start but they powered through!
Happy for the win. D played well for as long as on field. Some of that was self inflicted with poor tackling allowing Pinnik to escape and make a play. Offense could not sustain drives between penalties and alackluster play calling. Made plays that were needed.
That first kick off killed us. Our offense is great from the 25 to 25. But damn do they have some head scratching calls on offense wjen they get pinned back.

I think Pinnick is the best QB we’ve faced all year. Overall the defense did great. Gave up a lot of yards but got turnovers when we needed them and didn’t give up huge plays.
Not the best passer. His two INTs were not good throws. But he had the most escape ability
Uh your really wrong here. That kid is a great passer, we're just that good. He had good touch, he didn't throw long much but when he did it had good velocity. Our defense makes a lot if really good players not look as good but he liked really good tonight. He's going to be a problem going forward.

Yep, I said it earlier. If he stays at Davis he’s going to be a load going forward!

Great win. Got big plays when needed from our stars. Passing game was off other than one drive in the first half (the batted balls...yuck) but our top 3 rushers averaged over 6 yards a carry. Defense had 6 sacks, two huge picks, and we clamped down the closer they got to the Red zone. I'm also perfectly fine not seeing Caden Pinnick for a year. Slippery would be an understatement describing his play style. Only problem for them was he was their offense which is a tall task for a redshirt frosh. Beat a Top 10 team by 21. And it's officially FTG week!

The more I do think about it though. This win is great as every year we have a game or two that is just super vanilla play calling. Today was one of those games and we won fairly handily. I do think the refs took the wind out of sails early, and they overcame. The call back on Julius’ run was fairly weak and the Pinnick flop was a poor call, however this team kept their head down and gutted out a win.

Great win.

I genuinely think Pinnick is the best QB in the conference, at minimum he’s top 3. Half their dang offense tonight was him escaping and scrambling. We had a great pass rush tonight.

The white hat is always bad. I try not to complain about refs that much, but he is the worst in this conference. His crew flat refused to call holding on Davis. It’s a bad look for the conference to have him.

Caden Dowler plays the ball in the air better than any safety I can remember in the BSC. He had a play where he ran with Gbatu, turned with the receiver and made a play in the air for the ball. Didn’t get a pick, but it was arguably his best play in coverage. It’s just elite safety play. He should be the BSC DPOY.

Fun game, great crowd, incredible weather for mid-November! Great win. Davis is a very good team and the Cats beat them by 21 despite not playing anywhere near their best game.

So I did what it said and went to the espn app, didn’t work, so I finished the blowout game…
It was on ESPN+. We were a little late but were able to watch from the kickoff. I think it was on a couple of the alternate ESPN linear channels if your cable package includes them.

The first half made me very nervous. Tackling was sure not to par what it's been, but the team, on both sides made plays when it mattered. This was a very good challenge, like coach said, and hopefully gave them lots to work on this week to prep for Saturday.

Yall are a tough crowd... we score 38 against a top 10 team... give up only 17(realistically 10) and we're saying we played bad or not good?????

This was a really really good team. Pinnick is a straight dawg. We say poor tracking in him I say he's just that good. Got to give credit where credit is due. Ucd defensive line is good, I like them. Their coaches actually had a good game plan. This was a great test for us we'll be dialed in next week.
This!

Always interesting to see how these game day threads go. We win by 40 - 7 pages. Struggling a bit - 16 to 17 or more. Extra here because of the officials (well deserved criticism). Lots of good/great plays by lots of players in this game.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

For those of you who really understand football. Who was the better team; SDSU at Gold Rush or UC Davis last night?

I think the Cats are far better now than they were at Gold Rush. I thought Davis was one of the better teams I’ve seen inside Bobcat Stadium in a long time.

Didn't say he wasn't a good passer, but definitely not the best the Cats have faced this year.

I don’t know nearly as much as others on here, but I thought they were at the same level of South Dakota last year in the Semis.

@BobcatBuiltTexan what are your thoughts on limited use of TE in passing game last night and overall a fairly vanilla pass offense after taking the lead. Was it due to coverage UCD was running

It was only on ESPN2. ESPN+ wouldn't have worked last night. You had to have a cable log in or another package that had ESPN2 to watch it.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

I don’t think it was vanilla as much as it was we only ran 50 plays.

If you don’t have to do a lot to move the ball effectively, then you just keep it simple. Honestly though, I don’t think we had the ball enough to get into a real groove.

I was really impressed with his composure, especially for a freshman in a tough environment. He didn't panic on the fumbled snap on 4th down, he just picked it up and ran for a 1st down.
On their first TD he had a rusher coming at him hard but he stood in the pocket and delivered a perfect touch pass to the TE.
Kid is a gamer and I hope he sticks in the Big Sky and doesn't chase the money to move up. Because he will have that opportunity.
