Week 12 Big Sky week 8

Post by Prodigal Cat » Tue Nov 11, 2025 9:26 am

Perfect last week straight up (damnit  ) and 4 - 2 against the spread. Brings the season totals to 28 - 9 overall and 22 - 14 - 1 against the spread.

UNCU @ EWU (-6). Eastern showed some fight but they view gris as their rivals. Do they have a let down after or did they find something in the new QB? It appears the Cats broke the bears. EWU wins and covers.

Cal Poly @ NAU (-8). NAU got back in it with a big offensive showing against the aforementioned broken Bears. Cal Poly looks a bit broken as well. NAU has Poly then coach-less Weber so it looks like a repeat of last season. A good record but not a single noteworthy win. They should be a bit nervous on selection Sunday even with a 8-4 record. Jacks win and cover.

UM @ PSU (+27.5) The Vikings went back to losing after getting their first win but they have shown in the last 2 weeks the ability to score. Gris nation will say that Bobby didn't want to run up the score on his buddy Bruce. Or maybe this gris team just isn't the juggernaut they think they are? I feel like i'm gonna get screwed by the hook again here. Gris win but PSU covers (weird, there is a prop for Robby Hauck tackles, take the over)

Weber St @ ISU (-12.5) These games are weird to predict. Does Weber get a bump because the dismissed coach was actually the thing holding them back? Does the team rally around the loved and newly promoted coordinator? Or are they just a really bad football team? It's in Pokey so  ISU wins but Weber covers.

Idaho @ Sac St (-4) After upsetting NAU Idaho went back to being pretty lousy versus the Aggies. Davis last week should have put that game away several times but couldn't deliver the knockout blow. Meanwhile Sac still has life, a shot at playoffs, and a pretty potent running attack. Sac wins and covers.

Davis @ MSU (-17.5) I don't believe for a second that when this line comes out on MT Sports Bet that it will be this low. I would expect -21.5ish. But this the number I see so I would take it. Davis is plenty good but also banged up, I wish they were still healthy and hadn't dropped that game to ISU. Playing a night game in Bozeman has been bad for every team the last few years. If you want to go to bed at half you will probably be ok. Cats win and cover.

MSU opened at -11.5 and it quickly moved to -12.5. I feel pretty confident about that number. I would be iffy at -17.5. The Cats could win by that much, but UC Davis likely will be the best opponent since a healthy SDSU.

If it's true that UC Davis has lost like 15 or 17 players... I would think the Cats will thump them. Night game, juiced up crowd, and the Cats are playing with virtually everyone healthy off the two deep they started the season with. Again, thank God for Vigen and this program, strength and conditioning, double repping at practice, etc.

Honestly the Cats should be begging to play these home late kick night games. Last year they played Idaho twice in night games and destroyed them. The others I remember were beating the brakes off W&M in a playoff. A Sean Chambers beauty when the Cats ran wild against Davis a few years ago. Personally as someone who likes to be in bed or headed that way at 8:30, not starting a football game, its not ideal but the Cats have done well at home in these games.

UND losing to Murray Stare at the half.
YSU in a shoot out with Indiana State.

I’m starting to firmly believe that the MVFC is really weak this year. It’s not much different than the Big Sky.

Not BSC but Murray St is up 9-7 on UND at halftime. Murray is 0-10

I think Indiana State has improved. I wonder if they got healthy as the season went along.

SDSU gives up 4 TDs in the first qtr. They have the second longest streak as a ranked team. That should probably end this week. They will most likely not make the playoffs. Hard to see them turning it around in Grand Forks next week.

Truly, SDSU completely falling apart is sad. One player can make a huge difference, especially a QB, as we saw when Tommy went down in 2021 at the NC. However, I struggle to think this crash and burn is all because of losing Mason. Perhaps it's more a reflection on how they were decimated last year losing their coach and many staff along with a bunch of players, and all that is finally catching up with them, in addition to losing their starting QB..

They have two starting DL out, a LB, their 2nd and 3rd string RB, and are on QB3. They have zero depth this year.

Think if SIU wins over USD…SDSU will probably be the MVFC team that is left out amongst all the playoff hopefuls in that conference now

For sure!! I'm not sure I've ever heard of a game going into 5 overtimes.
