So is Weber sneaky?
I think they have tanked since Jay Hill left. Always a gamble when you get a new coach. Weber has died, Eastern went to mediocrity, Stitt tried to tank The gris. Sac but themselves in the bag and the bag is in the river. Idaho totally collapsed.

Yes, I fully expect them to come out for pregame warmups on Saturday clad in trenchcoats and fake mustaches.

Yes. Their defense is good and if they can generate some offense and special teams, not put their defense in bad situations they’re capable of giving MSU a good game.

This is either reverse psychology or Tom is a huge Lou Holtz fan....
Weebs gives up like 37 ppg. We haven't had a home game in a month so id imagine the Bobcat faithful will be loud and proud. I suppose the sun shines on a dog's ass every once in awhile, but I'll take the safe money here. Wildcats sneak up on no one; BOBcats win easily.

Re: So is Weber sneaky?
Heard from multiple people who were in Ogden this weekend that Weber State was "juiceless" and seemed completely uninterested in competing.
Weber was basically the same thing for 20 years. Ron McBride was the head coach at Utah and Jay Hill played for him. The McBride coached Weber from 2005 until 2011. Then there was the weird Jody Sears experience for two years. Then Jay Hill took over.
Weber was basically Kyle Whittingham's Utah, lite for almost all that time. Hard-hitting, physical defense. Huge offensive and defensive lines.
They could've maintained that easily had they just promoted DC Grant Duft when Jay Hill split for BYU. Instead, they made the most random hire in my entire time covering Big Sky football (Ed McCaffery is also up there) when they hired Mickey Mental....

If they were "juiceless" at home I can't imagine what the Juice Squad will do to them in Bozeman.

Re: So is Weber sneaky?
Tom can you elaborate on why you think Weber’s defense is good? They are towards the back half of the conference on yards per game giving up 425 yards per game but would be last in the conference in points per game giving up 37 if PSU didn’t exist. They gave up 55 to Sac St, griz had 31 at the half, and heck, PSU got 27 on them. There is very little in the way of statistics that say they are good defense??

Re: So is Weber sneaky?
Well, if this weekend taught us anything, it’s that even the top ranked teams can be beat by lesser teams. I don’t believe that happens this Saturday in Bozeman though. If the Cats come out on fire and Weber checks out like UNC did in the second half, it will be a long day for them.

Well, you see, points don't matter, and if you look at the yards given up in specific quarters for specific games, they've actually been very good!Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 3:30 pmTom can you elaborate on why you think Weber’s defense is good? Re: So is Weber sneaky?
I would wager that Vigen will point to Indiana State as an example of what can happen. I think the Bobcats will come out fired up and ready to roll. This team still has work to do to clean things up but I highly doubt coming out flat is on the bingo card.AFCAT wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 3:46 pmWell, if this weekend taught us anything, it’s that even the top ranked teams can be beat by lesser teams.
