Good for him. I really liked Elliot, and thought he could have gotten more touches throughout his career here. But he’s what the transfer portal should be for. Good on him, and hope for continued success.

I'm just glad this isnt egriz. They have the ads and then you click to close it and it takes you to the last post of the thread so you have to figure out what the last post that you read was.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 8:30 amFair enough, personally I find clicking the up arrow a lot easier than the process to get rid of pop-up ads on many other sites.AFCAT wrote: ↑Sun Oct 12, 2025 8:16 amGood for you. I’m just asking if he can nix the drop down ad since it appears on every single page and I have to click on the up arrow to get rid of it. I’m not asking to get rid of ads completely.

On egriz does it really matter?
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Sam is great but this really makes it sound like he's been watching the box scores more than the games, or just that as long as the griz keep winning he'll keep them ahead of the Cats no matter what because that's easier than evaluating which team is better week to week. He even explained why we should be ranked above them and then backtracked because they managed to roll big bad Cal Poly in the second half after getting shut out at home in the first half. It’s a bit of a nuisance for national pollsters to have two heated rivalries so close to each other in the rankings. Because there are fair arguments on both sides on who should be higher, and whichever argument you lean more toward will piss off half of a state. I moved Montana ahead of Montana State after the Grizzlies defeated Idaho due to the Griz having two ranked wins and MSU having zero at that point. On Saturday, the Griz trailed Cal Poly 9-0 at halftime while MSU was beating Idaho State decisively, a team that nearly defeated Montana a week before. At that time, I was prepared to move MSU back ahead of Montana. The Cats just looked like a more complete team and have been playing better the last couple of weeks. But … then Montana stormed back. Which, I anticipated the Griz still winning Saturday despite the halftime deficit. While MSU beat Idaho State more handily than Montana did, comparing scores can be dangerous due to matchups, defensive schemes, and home vs. away. Also, the Griz ended up beating Cal Poly 28-9. And if we want to compare scores, UC Davis (a team I have ranked No. 7) only beat Cal Poly 34-27 last week. We can go into roundabout points/counterpoints about who should be ranked higher. Reality is, there is no right answer right now. I expect both teams will win out until they face off at Montana’s place to end the regular season. To my understanding, per social media sources, me ranking MSU ahead of UM would be because I have a bias against UM. Me ranking UM ahead of MSU would be because I give UM too much benefit of the doubt and/or I got bullied into it.

Honestly, UM probably should be ranked higher than MSU. They haven't lost yet, and beat a top 10 team at home. We didn't. That doesn't mean that I think UM is better than MSU, but as of right now, they probably deserve the higher ranking.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 9:50 amhttps://herosports.com/fcs-top-25-sam-h ... 2025-bzbz/

Re: Random stuff 2025
Agree with this. Cats started higher and let a winnable game get away. Would have been top 2 until a loss. Comparing common opponents is tough due to injuries, home vs away, and other factors. Later in the season with multiple common opponents trends emerge. If Cats consistently beat teams more impressively than Griz, SDSU routes UND, those things can sway voters. Ultimately Polls only really help if teams have similar record, no head to head and they look at ranked wins to separate.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 9:52 amHonestly, UM probably should be ranked higher than MSU. Re: Random stuff 2025
I get being jumped by the Griz after their win against Idaho. The problem is, it was not reciprocated the following week when we beat the brakes off of then #13 NAU on the road while UM struggled on the road at ISU (Sam conveniently leaves out our NAU win). I think we should have jumped them then, and then held onto it.
Idaho is technically ranked still, which is a joke. But they have to play @ NAU, UCD, @ Sac, and ISU to finish it out after two winnable games against EWU and PSU. Even if they split their remaining 6 games they will be 5-7. They shouldn't be ranked and they likely won't be a playoff team.
NAU has a much easier finish, @ ISU, Idaho, UNC, CP, @ Weber. If they 3 of those I think they likely get in at 7-4, win 4 and they punch their ticket.
My point being NAU will likely still be ranked at the end of the season and hopefully a playoff team, and Idaho needs to win at least 5 of their last 6 games to get into the playoffs, I think they are all but done.

You want a higher rank? Don’t lose at home, ever.
But, these rankings mean nothing. They might mean something if the Cats didn’t play um. But, obviously they do.

NAU wasn't as high as Idaho. Griz struggled vs ISU who had decent FBS performances and Cats "struggled" vs Mercyhurst. Seems like Cats have a bad win that voters can't get past even though it was a shutout. Cats will move up if keep winning and Griz lose that is probably only scenario.CelticCat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 14, 2025 3:25 pmI get being jumped by the Griz after their win against Idaho.
