It felt like being the announcer is his side gig and his real job is in university marketing. I could only make it about halfway through. The passion is great but I don't think it's what anyone was expecting when they hit play (probably including Colter).
Agreed, one of the few Skyline videos I didn’t make it all the way through, I turned it off about halfway through. Dude was a bit over the top on his assessment of where they’re at.

I hope they are on the rise. I want 4-5, even 6 teams in the Big Sky to consistently vie for the Big Sky title.

This year it looks to be 2, sometimes it’s 3. Getting another team into that conversation would be great. I don’t tho they’re there yet, but I suppose we’ll see.

No doubt the NAU trajectory is upward, but he made it seem that they’re on their way to being the next NDSU lol
Well they did beat the Gris recently so must be top 10 or maybe top 5 at least.
Here's a trivia question for you: how many playoff games has Northern Arizona football won?
Don't need trivia, didn't even listen to the podcast. Was just replying to the poster. It's a joke.

Haha sorry, I missed the Griz joke all together, didn't mean to include that in the quote tweet at all! My trivia question was in response to the comment that the guest made it sound like NAU is the next NDSU. Which led to me pointing out that, in my 19 years of covering the Big Sky, NAU has never won a playoff game.

I'm not sure why anyone differentiates between FCS/IAA from 1978 to currently and Small Division/Division II from 1957 through 1977.

MSU beat NDSU back in 1976 in Fargo. That was when there was no such thing as IAA/FCS. Division II was essentially IAA/FCS. Division II was called Small Division in 1972 going back to 1956. This is when MSU announced it was going to move from NAIA to NCAA Small Division. Basically, Small Division and Division II through 1977 and IAA began in 1978 and is now FCS are all the same thing. If you want to summarize the division MSU is in, it starts in 1957.

People get confused about this because the current Division II is a level below FCS.

UM has two road wins. Beat Marshall in the championship in Marshall's stadium, which would've been a neutral field had Marshall not played in the game.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Are you saying it was difficult? :lol

You have about 95% of it right there. Playoff football in the NCAA started just five years before IAA/ FCS. 1973.

Wow. That’s insane. I’m glad they have support and an enthusiastic announcer, but let’s slow the roll for “the sky is the limit”
