Another cream puff on the schedule this week (Mercyhurst & San Diego each went 4-7 last season). Cats win 63-0 this week. Will be up to .500 by Saturday night.

Unlikely to be a shutout. Last one was 2023 vs WSU but other than that you have to go to a D2 team back in 2016. And that’s the last time MSU played a D2 coincidently. MSU always pulls starters in third quarter.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Last year it was a 52-13 game.

I’m at 42-21 this year.

MH is an improved team. They played Youngstown St tougher than I thought they would. Led Sac St for a time before Sac St pulled away in second half….and their QB is an effective passer for as small as he is….avg over 300 yards per game passing. And we are not at the same level as last years team was at this juncture of the season. I certainly don’t think MH wins but should be a more competitive game.
The defensive efficiency is good this year 3rd down conversion by D last 2 weeks is excellent. I would say the D is ahead of last year while the offense is behind

Compared to this time last year:
Offense even. Defense ahead. Special teams even.

I'd like to see Adam Jones get untracked. So far he is 31-95 (3.1 per). I'm thinking 15-120 tomorrow. Cats 44-13.

48 - 7 Cats
Mercyhurst is better than last year. However 2 trips for them out west against a top 3 team will be too much. They will get a score in garbage time. Maybe even out score the Cats in the 4th quarter 7 - 3.

The betting line is at 32.5 points, so I’m going to give them 10, and us… 45! I think we cover, get lots of running in, and substitutes are going to play the 2nd half.

Awwwww, no worries. Looks like I was right about the cream puff and the shutout, but I was dead wrong about the total score. The way Sac State boatraced these guys made me think it would be more lopsided. I got nothing to crow about. lol
