Won’t be at all surprised if MSU rides the home crowd energy and wins by a similar score. Can’t wait to experience this one.

Re: SDSU Predication Thread
People have talked about how the MSU vs Oregon is hard to learn much from. But this is true for just about everyone. I don’t think the score from the SDSU vs SAC game says much. The stats measure that game better. SAC is a tough team to figure out right now. They were very good for five years then went 3-9 last year but that included a lot of close losses. They took rival UC Davis to the wire.
I think it’s going to be a low scoring, physical game just like two years ago. A little trivia: this was the second game of the season for both teams in 2023 and 2018 and 2017.
MSU 23
SDSU 20

I have absolutely no gut feeling about this game especially after last week, other than I think it’s going to be a close game. I believe our home crowd will make the difference: 27-24 Cats.

31-17 Cats. Has all the makings of SDSU trying to test our young secondary, and I think one of them steps up in a huge way with a pick 6.

Seriously? Cats lost in 2023 in Brookings on a blown review. & The Cats won by 2 TDS with a freshman QB who couldn't throw a pass at home in '21.CodyCat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 7:53 amI have absolutely no idea how this game will go. My gut tells me SDSU rolls us. But, I don’t know why. Then factor in the history of being 1-9 against the DSU’s. History isn’t on the Cats side. The Jacks have plenty of unknowns as well.
I’ll go against my gut, for no real reason other than I want the Cats to win.
19-17
This years Cats team is probably better than last years. And SDSU is clearly worse. Cats by 15.

Re: SDSU Predication Thread
I don't understand this. Cats ran for 3 yards per carry against a D-line with a bunch of NFL talent, including a potential Top 10 draft pick.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 8:19 pmThis is one think I am super curious about. So tough to tell where we're at in the running game as there was zero chance we're moving that Oregon DL around. We've had one of, if not the best rushing offense in the FCS for a few years in a row and I don't see anything that makes me thing that's going to change a lot.. Dominant OL, Excellent RB's, running QB, and good scheme\coaching. We'll know a lot more Saturday night.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:53 pmI actually watched the Sac/SDSU game and I can say SDSU is good. They've got beef and speed in the front 7 and their DBs covered Sac well, but their offense is the big question mark. They have a big mobile QB but their O line is not as good as last year or Sac's front is really good. Sac does have some big and strong tackles and made it to the QB like 7 times. This is where we will beat SDSU, we need to play fast and gap sound but I think we disrupt SDSU Offense enough not to operate well and limit their scoring. I see this game about 26-17 Cats.GoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:22 pmSac State was 3-9 last year, SDSU beating them means almost nothing. In fact, given the state of Sac’s defense, I’d call scoring only 20 points pretty underwhelming. SDSU’s quarterback has thrown like 80 total passes in his career. This is nowhere near the juggernaut team from 2023, a team the Cats would have beat at home (and would have beat if the replay rules were applied correctly, but that’s a different topic). People on here are just depressing.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:11 pmNo offense to you or anyone else predicting SDSU to win but do you mind me asking what is making you think SDSU is so good? They lost a LOT of players, and have a new coach. Sure they beat Sac, but we don't know how good Sac is, and of they played in Brookings - which makes a HUGE difference.
Just wondering what some people are seeing that makes them think SDSU is so dominant.
I feel like this will be another game were we don't run the ball well but Lamson puts us over the top with 3 TDs. I really like the way Lamson slings the ball around, and he's just getting started!
SDSU is likely still a GREAT FCS defense & has a good D-Line, but they don't have NFL talent, let alone an obvious Top 10 pick.
If the Cats can run for 3 agains Oregon, they can easily run for 4, maybe 5 against SDSU.

Thats bonkers. Theres no way the Cats are dogs at home with all of SDSUs question marks. SDSU could win, but they don't cover.

And the Cats were starting Chris Murray at QB and finished 5-6.
Now the Cats are coming off a national championship game, have the best passing QB they've put on the field in 10+ years....and a roster stacked with returning talent.

Going to be a hell of a game. However, it being Gold Rush and 22007 screaming fans I will take the Cats 28 - 24.

The Bobcats celebrate a nice 34-20 victory over the Jacks with a post game feast of hasenpfeffer.

I’m not saying you’re right or wrong, but it’s far too early to tell after 1 game. Last year we had a stinker of a game against Augustana and “only” won 24-3.onceacat wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 9:56 pmSeriously? I’ve been saying all off-season with Eidsness back as OC our offense is going to be better than last years and I still believe that. Might take a couple weeks but it will get there. If our defense is as good as it looked last week I think our team as a whole can be better than last year.

Assuming that what we saw last week holds, Lamson brings versatility passing that Tommy never had. Last years offense wasn’t exactly one dimensional, but the Cats have traded Tommy’s running for a far better arm.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 6:05 amThis years team is better than last years??? Everywhere else, the Cats are just as good.
I think that as a team, that’s going to make the Cats a little tougher to defend by great defenses with athletic defenders.
That’s a pretty good trade for us.

And Lamson is going to have some explosive runs this season, maybe not tonight, but he's going to embarrass a Big Sky team's secondary.
