Call me crazy but I’m feeling 37-17 domination. The stadium is going to be as rowdy as we will ever see it.

Re: SDSU Predication Thread
I had the pleasure of flying from my current home (Austin) to my former home (Portland) last week for some great food, great friends, and Widmer Hef. We limited out on Chinooks and Coho out of Astoria, then drove to Eugene to watch the respective National Champions of both the FBS and FCS. Great week!
This we return to normalcy and waiting for my salmon to arrive via overnight express.

Re: SDSU Predication Thread
I have absolutely no idea how this game will go. It doesn’t feel like this Bobcat team has an identity yet. But, it’s also hard to pull any conclusions from last weeks game.
My gut tells me SDSU rolls us. But, I don’t know why. Then factor in the history of being 1-9 against the DSU’s. History isn’t on the Cats side. The Jacks have plenty of unknowns as well.
I’ll go against my gut, for no real reason other than I want the Cats to win.

Re: SDSU Predication Thread
You guys are too negative. 31-21 Bobcat victory. The Cats will get the running game on track and Taco turns the corner on a few catches over the middle for big gains. SDSU has some great talent on offense, but nothing like the freaks Oregon had. The defense was in position to make a lot of plays last week and wasn’t able to finish tackles, and I think that changes against different competition.

Nobody, and I mean nobody comes into Bobcat Stadium and "Rolls us". Especially at Gold Rush at night. Just will never happen.CodyCat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 7:53 amI have absolutely no idea how this game will go. It doesn’t feel like this Bobcat team has an identity yet. No offense to you or anyone else predicting SDSU to win but do you mind me asking what is making you think SDSU is so good? They lost a LOT of players, and have a new coach. Sure they beat Sac, but we don't know how good Sac is, and of they played in Brookings - which makes a HUGE difference.
Just wondering what some people are seeing that makes them think SDSU is so dominant.

Sac State was 3-9 last year, SDSU beating them means almost nothing. In fact, given the state of Sac’s defense, I’d call scoring only 20 points pretty underwhelming. SDSU’s quarterback has thrown like 80 total passes in his career. This is nowhere near the juggernaut team from 2023, a team the Cats would have beat at home (and would have beat if the replay rules were applied correctly, but that’s a different topic). People on here are just depressing.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:11 pmNo offense to you or anyone else predicting SDSU to win but do you mind me asking what is making you think SDSU is so good? Re: SDSU Predication Thread
I actually watched the Sac/SDSU game and I can say SDSU is good. They've got beef and speed in the front 7 and their DBs covered Sac well, but their offense is the big question mark. They have a big mobile QB but their O line is not as good as last year or Sac's front is really good. Sac does have some big and strong tackles and made it to the QB like 7 times. This is where we will beat SDSU, we need to play fast and gap sound but I think we disrupt SDSU Offense enough not to operate well and limit their scoring. I see this game about 26-17 Cats.GoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:22 pmSac State was 3-9 last year, SDSU beating them means almost nothing. I feel like this will be another game were we don't run the ball well but Lamson puts us over the top with 3 TDs. I really like the way Lamson slings the ball around, and he's just getting started!

Don’t get me wrong, I think SDSU is good! I think that Sac is highly overrated until we see otherwise. I would feel pretty differently about this game if it wasn’t at Bobcat stadium, but I think SDSU’s lack of experience at some key positions (and coaching) will show through with them on the road.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 1:53 pmI actually watched the Sac/SDSU game and I can say SDSU is good. This game is going to mimic the last game in Bobcat Stadium, the semifinal. We score midway thru the 4th on Saturday to go up 2 scores and the d line brings it home. 34-24 good guys.

Oh, they definitely do. Much more relaxed. It’s a lot different than last year so maybe that’s why you’re thinking that. I think the leaders are more approachable. There are more “coaches” on the field. Five guys pop up on offense and five on defense. Last year it was about three on each side. Mellott Wehr and Grebe were stoic leaders last year, while Uluilakepa O’Reilly and Ortt were looser. I’m trying to think of a stern, stoic player on this year’s team.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

The players have a fairly consistent identity but the team doesn't have a clear identity yet. I'm guessing that's what @CodyCat meant. We can guess what we're going to look like on the field but we won't know until halftime on Saturday night.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 3:16 pmOh, they definitely do. Much more relaxed. That’s right. What is their on field identity going to be?coloradocat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 04, 2025 3:51 pmThe players have a fairly consistent identity but the team doesn't have a clear identity yet. I’ve seen the players, loose, having fun, joking around. That actually has me worried, which I completely understand is stupid.
I’m ready to see who and what this team is going to be. Unfortunately, by 10pm Saturday one team will have a much greater chance at hosting the semis than the other team.

Re: SDSU Predication Thread
Go big or go home. Cats 45 jacks 10.
It's Gold Rush and after last week Cats come out fired up and looking for blood. Doesn't matter if they individually are stoic or laid back, they are all business.
Lamson 2 TDs passing, 1 on the ground. Taco gets lots of return opportunities and takes one to the house. Jones and Julius (J&J) get one a piece. Sansted gets in on a FG. Bobcat defense is at least twice as good as Sac's.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.
