Not according to the stats. But it does show him with a catch. My bad. He must’ve played.

Assume it was a run. Says he “plowed in”.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 2:27 pmThe release said White had a 2 yard TD, but didn’t say if it was a run or catch.

Re: Fall Camp
I watched a couple of hours of practice today and watched the QBs closely. Going to keep this vague. In the small amount of time I was there it was clear that 8 and 13 were the top dogs. There wasn't a clear separation between the two in terms of decision making - both were throwing with good rhythm and not (thankfully) throwing checkdowns every other drop back. No deflections or INTs from those two while I was there. When 13 decides to tuck it and run, he has another gear though - not twitchy like TM, but runs like a deer. Drove in from Great Falls in hopes to calm my nerves about the QBs and I am glad I made the trip. We are going to be more than fine at that position this year imho
I was impressed with the competitiveness of the guys. Didn't see anyone taking reps off and the guys were getting after one another, especially in the 1 on 1 DL vs OL drills. That was FUN to watch! What wasn't fun was the choice of practice music! Would it kill them to play a little Foghat?!
It was also fun to see all of the families moving their kiddos into the dorms. All of the excited kids walking around campus. Great energy on campus. I remember the day 24 years ago when my parents helped me move into Langford Hall like it was yesterday. So excited for these kids. I brought my son and he asked, "How do I get to come here faster dad?" Brought a tear to my eye.

I agree that Lamson is almost a lock. Wilson is a bit of a mystery. He is a great runner but didn’t put that on display when he got in last season. Whatever the case I don’t think QBs are a big concern for the coaches.
What jumps out to me from the interview above is the part about the defense not giving up big plays (and tackled well). I thought that big plays were the only knock on last season’s defense. Didn’t rear up until the Davis game. The Griz didn’t have any but all the playoff teams did.

Wilson, 13, is straight line faster than Tommy was. Just not as quick doesn’t get up to speed quite as fast.Clinton T wrote: ↑Mon Aug 18, 2025 9:15 pmI watched a couple of hours of practice today and watched the QBs closely. Going to keep this vague. Like Tom said above, I wish he (Chance) would have displayed that speed when given the opportunity last season. When he decided to tuck it in practice yesterday, nobody was catching him. Tom has done a great job of referencing his HS T&F times - not sure if it is coaches limiting him or Chance being tentative to tuck it and utilize that 100m speed. Agree with Tom and Belligerent though - you bring in a transfer from Stanford and he is on par with your other in house guy, you play the guy from Stanford. Assuming Lamson is the starter, I wouldn't be shocked to see some packages for chance as well. Similar to what we did with Chambers.Clinton T wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 9:48 amLike Tom said above, I wish he (Chance) would have displayed that speed when given the opportunity last season. I wouldn't be angry if BV just went ahead and named the starter. Just make a decision and go with it like the Davis coach has although they play Saturday so their timeline is different. I'm guessing he will have to next week when they release the 2 deep but getting ahead of that has some benefits in my mind.

Captains and 2deep will be decided by Wednesday via Vigen. No official announcement until Mondays press conference. The team knows or will know.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 10:17 amI wouldn't be angry if BV just went ahead and named the starter. I think right now Wilson is probably number three. But with his speed maybe they find a package or position for him. My opinion is solely based off of the decision-making and throwing abilities of each quarterback. What I have not got to see from Duchein is his running ability which I haven’t been able to assess. What it might be .Clinton T wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 9:48 amLike Tom said above, I wish he (Chance) would have displayed that speed when given the opportunity last season. Good stuff! I have absolutely zero credibility when it comes to evaluating anybody on a football field. Ultimately, I trust Coach vegan on his choices. There’s always gonna be arguments about small points. Whoever wins the opportunity to start I expect will need repetitions in the system to improve as the season goes. First two games are gonna be trial by fire.
