Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Cass Bauer-Bilodeau – Montana State
Women’s Basketball, 1990-94
Cass Bauer-Bilodeau played women’s basketball for Montana State from 1990-94… Was instrumental in sending the Bobcats to the NCAA Tournament in 1993, when they beat Montana twice in eight days to win the Big Sky for the first time… Earned Kodak All-America Honorable Mention accolades in both 1993 and 1994… Named Big Sky Player of the Year in 1993, as well as Tournament MVP… Voted First Team All-Conference honoree three times (1992, 19993, 1994)… Named to the All-Tournament Team in 1994… Won eight Big Sky Conference Player of the Week titles…Played in the WNBA and won an American Basketball League Championship.
One of the best ever — a 6’4” very mobile center. Being that she was from eastern Montana, her career caught my attention. We bought tickets and went to a game just to watch Cass. We never missed many games after that — we were hooked! The game we went to was the one where they beat the gris for the second time — then won the conference on a post-game coin toss. Wow.

I was going to say this is a record that will never be broken...but with all the stuff happening right now with lawsuits challenging eligibility rules this likely isn't going to be the case!

Re: Basketball random stuff
That may be true, but given the unrestricted free agency, it may very well stand for the most games played with one team.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Way to go ladies! 12 All-Academic selections….keeping the word “student” still meaningful in the recognition of our “student athletes”! Proud to have you representing Montana State!

Re: Basketball random stuff
Listen to @BobcatDel . Student athletes. The Big Sky is usually one of the best, and the Bobcats stand at the top! That is what makes it so easy to cheer for and support this team. Why have so many lost the way?
I just had an idea. I love collegiate sports, the way it was. Why doesn’t the Big Sky add some more high-character, high-quality academic schools (the xDSU and UxD quite likely match), prune a few existing ones, create some divisions, and play lots of games, and then end the season with everyone-in tournaments. Might take four games for top seeds to boil it down, but that works for basketball, football, volleyball. Play fair with great student-athletes. And let the rest of so-called college sports and fake student athletes just go away and do their own thing. I appreciate the Big Sky and MSU more every year.
Way to go, MSU Bobcats women’s basketball!

This is awesome!!!! It shows the priority Coach Bin and her staff place on academics. They recruit athletes who excel in the classroom and support them once here.
High academic achievement has been a trademark of Coach Binford’s teams from the beginning of her tenure.
It makes supporting the program easy for me.

Re: Basketball random stuff
Yeah. I think if he would have just waited it out a little longer he would have had a nice career with the Bobcats. But you can't argue with what he did at Montana Tech-his dad's alma mater.lutecat wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 6:50 pmSprinkle's only miss.imacat wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 5:33 pmFormer Bobcat Christian Bellach going pro …

Re: Basketball random stuff
After HS i had big expectations for him. I thought his season with Cats he looked slow and undersized and felt like it was the right move. He may have been good his Jr and Sr year, but the Cats also had some studs where he would not have had the playing time he got at Tech.lutecat wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 6:50 pmSprinkle's only miss.imacat wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 5:33 pmFormer Bobcat Christian Bellach going pro …

Women had their banquets last night. Of course there's some people missing.....

Also noticed that the transfers aren't listed on the 24-25 roster anymore.

Great stuff once more this team. I like Lindsey Hein making the absolute best out of a bummer situation.

Interesting no one leaving won an award or if they did it wasn't promoted.

What would you have them win over someone that won? I dont know that anyone that left wins MVP. That's Esme all the way. Noone else was going to when defensive player. Marah maybe on most improved but yeah if she leaves and is gone why give her an award. She's in Michigan now. Lexi is in Colorado. I have no idea but assume Natalie is in Sac.

And Hannah wasn't going to get an award.
And to be clear I'm good with everyone leaving and understand their reasons except Natalie. I think an agent got ahold of her and fed her some expectations that a 20 minute a game bench player wasn't going to get.
