I saw that but he has some pretty big FBS offers too.

He had committed to Wisc in December and then decommitted, correct? What happened in-between? Sounds like a good one if we could pick him up.

There is thread on his exit but much of it is behind a pay wall. Only a couple posts will show without a membership. Can’t tell if he found a better offer or was asked by the staff to leave.

As I’ve said before, I think sometimes players from the FCS think they are better than they are. Not just necessarily that other than the competition is tougher. I also think the FBS schools make a lot of offers with fine print that never gets read by the player that is offered, and once they figure it out, it’s not as attractive as I first thought it was. The romance was lost.

Interesting quote from the coach..."This isn’t for everybody, right?” Fickell told reporters. “This is a grown-ass man’s league, and this is a grown man’s game. If guys don’t understand that and this isn’t the right thing for them, it is what it is.

And now begins in earnest the "giveth" portion of transfer portal season. We like this a lot more than that part that has already happened...or will have happened by the end of this week. If they do land Hamper I have to wonder if that signals that MSU will be transitioning to a more balanced offense this year instead of relying so heavily on the run like they did with Tommy as QB.
