Re: Anyone else dislike the Bison more than the Griz?
The bizos came and planted their flag in the middle of the Bobcat tailgate tables. I said that doesn't belong here. Pulled it out walked over to the outhouses and put it down one of the air vents. That bizo flag looked great sticking out the top of the fart hole in an outhouse. Might be bush league but I thought it was funny. I have a great Pic of it

The North Dakota State Bisons raided our space at the game after claiming their victory, they stormed us, pushing us band members around, yelling and cursing at our faces, surrounding our drum majors. Of course this wasn't broadcast, and many would see it as "celebration" but to me, this story should be spread. At Montana State, we take pride in our band and our members. EVERY TITLE GAME (even sdsu last 2 years) the WINNING TEAM RUNS TO THE PODIUM FOR THE TROPHY
THE PODIUM IS IN "FRONT" OF THE BANDS... the walkway IN FRONT Is 6 FEET WIDE
I WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE WITH VIDEO OF THE NDSU PLAYERS RUNNING IN FRONT OF THE BAND. SO SHUT UP TUBA TIMMY.

What is worse? The Bison not taking part in a sportsmanship action of shaking hands after a game, or a Bison fan trying to justify not doing it? No class!

Re: Anyone else dislike the Bison more than the Griz?
1000% agree that the Money Money chant needs to be left with the Gris only. They have earned our hatred and I have NO problem chanting it at every game no matter who we’re playing, but keep it directed at the Gris. In my mind I chant it because I was belittled, ridiculed, treated very rudely by Gris fans for 25 plus years. So the fact our program has risen above theirs…F*** em. Let’s rub their nose in it. Drives them bat s**t crazy when they hear it on national TV. I personally have zero issues with NDSU fans. I came across many in Frisco and in our hotel lobby and went out of my way to be polite before and after the game. I was treated with the upmost respect by them. Do they act entitled? Some yes but then they have the right to. But I’m a firm believer in what goes up will come down.. ask Gris Nation. Their dumb a** never ever thought that would never happen..So fellow Cat fans always keep it in perspective and be a gracious loser and winner. That’s what we expect out of our players and coaches…CheersGoCats18 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 2:13 pm1000%. I get they are clearly the best FCS team ever, but the arrogance of their fans, players and coaching staff is disgusting. Everyone wants what they have, and they know it. Maybe that goes with winning though. I’m starting to think that our fan base is like that with the Mony Mony cheer. That’s a Brawl of the Wild song. We look so dumb chanting that to a program like that.
With success comes attention, with attention comes cockiness, with cockiness comes arrogance, with arrogance comes rudeness...and they wonder why I hate the Griz ! FTG

Re: Anyone else dislike the Bison more than the Griz?

This made me laugh.
All I'd say, and I noticed it last time we were down there is as the game is winding down they just need much more security and ushering in that endzone with the bands. You KNOW the players and all the fans are rushing over there for post game celebration. You know at least one band will be making their way out. Add in the alcohol from the fans and that's already a bad combo.
I love the tradition of the winning team rushing over there to celebrate. Just think there could be steps to kinda usher out the band on the other side to avoid this kind of thing. In the grand scheme of things it's a non-issue in my mind but no sense in not taking a little precaution.

So the FCS title game is the exception to the long standing professional, collegiate and even grade school through high school display of good sportsmanship. Teams are exempt from shaking hands at the end of the game, you just run off the field and celebrate.lakesbison wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 4:04 pmCataholic wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:19 amThank you for posting this. Re: Anyone else dislike the Bison more than the Griz?
I don't see this as a huge deal. it probably sucked for some of our band members, and I can definitely see how this incident could have pissed them off. NDSU players are justified to celebrate and our band is justified to be mad about how some of them did so.D-Wreck wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:07 amI saw this on the FaceSpace this morning from a SOTW member:

HOWEVER.....going back to the title of this thread....the difference between NDSU fans and gris fans is that some gris fans took this incident as an opportunity to attack the band member who wrote this on social media and message boards...calling her a Karen, etc. Grown ass men attacking a college girl playing in the band. It's just bizarre behavior.

Nuanced answer:
I hate the Bison because they have our number and I want to get the monkey off our backs, but I respect the juggernaut they've built
I hate the Griz because we play them every season for state pride, they're our rival, and their fans act like the Griz are the team that has won 10 titles since 2011
