Our season is over. I'll get to the defense later. Love the way the offense came out and competed in the 2nd half but I don't understand the process or the gameplan for the 1st half. Hopefully lessons are learned...I guess.
The gameplan & strategy on O in 1st half was a joke. Walker accepted the job at Temple a week or two before this game & checked out. Complete failure by the offensive coaching staff.
That seems to be a bit of over exaggeration. The guys on the field didn't exactly execute...but yeah, there appear to be some coaching fails too.

I'd love to see an NCAA ban on contacting coaches currently under contract during the season. You don't see this sort of crap in the NFL very often.
Yes! This needs to happen. Will it? Doubtful, but it should!

It happens in the NFL all the time, multiple assistants whose teams are still alive in the playoffs were interviewing for other jobs last week or will be interviewing next week. There are rules about when the interviews can happen but obviously there's contact made to set those up. As fans it sucks to lose coaches but you also can't hinder their opportunity to move to a more lucrative job. I have no doubt that Walker and Johnson gave 100% attention and effort to helping MSU win the national championship. Just didn't work out this time.

Maybe that’s the lesson Vigen was talking about?

It’s certainly a choice to be this publicly…dumb.

After I read @VimSince03 comments I am starting to wonder how far are we from guys refusing to play in a game because they don’t want to get injured and lose their FBS pay day? When does this portal really start to hurt?

Thank you for the write up, I think it left me a little more bummed out than before. :(
Not sure that will happen at the FCS level because you are still playing for a title. Championships are forever. But if the current format doesn't get fixed, maybe within 5 years?

As for our portal guys and some maybe saying they didn't play hard in this game, that's not what I was implying in my posts.

Scottre not consistently breaking tackles is something that has plagued him since his first carry as a Bobcat. Perfect example happened in the natty. His only broken tackle was one of his hardest which was the one at the goalline for us to score. Can't say Scottre didn't want it there. He's just not a complete back yet but that's his journey now.

Rohan just had an awful drop night. He also got beat up too often in the blocking game but he also sprung Tommy with a huge block on the edge for the 44 yard run. Rohan played very hard.

Conner was an animal all night in the run game. His weakness showed up in pass pro too often but again that has always been his area for improvement.

Andrew had a bad PI as he was in position in the 1st half. That was on 3rd down too. Two plays later the seas open for Cam Miller.

These are our big 4 transfers and played for their brothers in the biggest game of their lives thus far. I have no doubt about that after watching the film.
Probably my frustration causing me to look for a message that wasn’t there…

Go to :14 in and you'll see the 3rd and 4 play when we were down 3rd and 4. Tommy was obviously trying to go to Ty on the next level but if he just gets it to Rohan right away its an easy first down. Only real mistake Tommy made in the 2nd half.

This also shows how much Conner struggled with #56 in pass pro. However, the run plays were a different story but it is what it is.

In a game of missed opportunities that was the biggest missed opportunity. Not in good field position there but it was the only time the Bobcats had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead.
