South Dakota was legit. There are clearly things we need to clean up before Frisco, but you know this team will be ready. Now let’s just hope ticket prices drop a little. Haha!!

I do agree that the elbow was down on the replay. If he had not have fumbled the refs would have given him several more yards.nanacat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 4:05 pmI was so bummed when that got overturned. Thanks for posting. The USD fans I interacted with were all super cool.cyclonebasketballguy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 3:07 pmFor starters, congrats to you all. What a game. You had a couple breaks go your way but that’s football. You deserved the win.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 5:56 pmSee you homies in Frisco. Also #54 Gaes is a sore loser. Walked straight off the field after the last kneel down.
Observations:
1. Great fan base. There’s always a couple rotten apples in every fan base. That goes for USD as well. But from the time we got to Bozeman we were welcomed everywhere we went. Everybody wanted to talk football. I walked in the Spur wearing a South Dakota wind breaker,a large number of people booed then laughed then offered to buy me a drink. Great people.
2. A lot of energy in the community of Bozeman all due to your football team. I even went into an art studio and they were giddy about the upcoming game. I don’t know many artists in South Dakota or Nebraska or Iowa that are football fans. I’m gonna buy a piece of art from her simply because she was pumped for your Cats.
3. Great energy in your stadium. Absolutely fantastic fan support. You knew when to crank it up. The noise affected cadence but not the play of the kids.
4. Your program and our program are mirror images of each other.
5. Your QB is a generational player. Seems like a great and humble kid.
In closing the comment above about Nick Gaes being a poor sport is absolutely 100% wrong. You had a guy on the sideline wearing a Big Sky hat that shot his mouth off in the waning seconds that was totally unwarranted. It was derogatory as hell. I heard it. Nick apparently decided to go to the locker room in order to contain any inappropriate anger or outburst in retaliation. I know Nick personally and he’s a great kid. He was the bigger person.
I totally feel that guy doesn’t represent your fan base. I witnessed many of your fans congratulating our players after the game. In a way,it was kind of a weird level of respect. Back to the guy who popped off to Nick I was standing right there. I asked him why he said what he did. He told me to F off.
I left Bozeman last night knowing our kids didn’t play their best game but played their butts off. The better team that day won the game. I earnestly believe it was the National Championship game. Now go validate it in Frisco.
I have many fond memories of my trip to Bozeman. Thanks for being great hosts. Go Cats
I couldn’t have been more impressed with your team. They were, BY FAR, the toughest group we’ve played against this year. Great tacklers, hard hitters, tough runners….tons of grit.
Glad to hear you were able to make the trip to Bozeman and that you were treated well. Just please don’t move here. Hahah.

And the ball was definitely moving before his forearm touched. It's just a matter of if the ball moving before the forearm touched was a loss of control or not.Bocephus wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 1:12 pmHis forearm was definitely down.onceacat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 1:00 pmOverturning the fumble return for TD was questionable. It’s hard to grind out the clock against a defense like USD when you’re trying to “rest” your best runner. Taco dropped a TD he normally catches. Their two TD’s came mainly because of mistakes, maybe I’m biased, but I thought we were rather obviously more talented and executed better overall.
Replay was 100% inconclusive if he had lost control or not prior to the forearm down. I think he PROBABLY had control...but it wasn't remotely close to CONCLUSIVE.
Whatever the call on the field was needed to stand, becasue thats how the rule is written.

As far as 54’s, he may be a good kid and sorry to hear someone made a disparaging comment to him. But he knows how to pummel someone into the ground 5 yards out of bounds. I can understand that happing close to the outside of bounds, but he drive Jones way out of bounds then ground him into the ground. I was impressed Jones was able to bounce up.

I think since the approach moved to 'let the play play out then correct it in replay if needed' has changed the deference to the call on the field. At least on turnovers.onceacat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2024 1:00 pmOverturning the fumble return for TD was questionable. There's a good chance the ref thought he was down but they're now instructed to swallow the whistle just in case. Which makes it more important to make sure it's right in replay. It was impossible to tell in-stadium, but watching it last night it looked like he had a grip on the ball until his elbow hitting jarred it loose.

Why would I tape this to the back of my second gen Camaro?? Either people couldn't see it or it would ruin the airflow.
