We can and will talk about this team for a long time. But, dang boys, we should be proud of the scene we created yesterday. The noise absolutely caused both of their bad snaps.

When Eiden had that sack, it blew the roof off the place.
Shout-out to those lucky enough to attend the game in person. You had an impact on the game and your energy came across loud and clear on a national TV broadcast!!

Anyone know where to find photos of Grebe playing the fiddle with the football after his fumble recovery?

3 things.

1) That was the most fun I’ve had at a game. Crowd was amazing. Haven’t heard it that loud before.

2) Theis is the best RB we’ve played all year (easily), and USD was the best team we’ve played all year.

3) We should have won by 3 scores. Offense went conservative early (I get it), and just had a hard time picking it up when they needed it. It’s hard to grind out the clock against a defense like USD when you’re trying to “rest” your best runner. Taco dropped a TD he normally catches. Their two TD’s came mainly because of mistakes, maybe I’m biased, but I thought we were rather obviously more talented and executed better overall.

Anyone else think Rylan played his best game?
No.
Thought Rylan played better than Dru who I could tell he wasn't 100%. That 2nd touchdown, Dru had a bad miss. On the long Thies run, just flush that tape. They never got their deep shot which was big. Thought the pass rush was good. Run defense slowly got better as the game went on but it was not friendly in the first quarter and a half. I don't think Rylan played bad by any means, I just think he's had better games this season.
I was really worried. Our defensive line is lighter than anyone else we've played. Their offensive line is huge. I think the conventional wisdom is they will wear us down. I thought we were going to have to score on every possession to keep up because we won't be stopping their run. But the opposite seemed to happen. Our defense got stop after stop in the second half.

I was watching a SD podcast last week and their resident homers were pretty cocky-saying that we haven't seen an offensive line as good as theirs. My thought was that may be true-except our d-line has to practice against our o-line...Anyway when Eiden got that sack, I wasn't really worried anymore.

I worry about big olines when we are losing because coming back against that is a tall task. But the reverse is true when big olines have to play from behind. That is a plus advantage for us every time.

I rewatched the game, and I think the Oline did better than I thought from the stands against a very stout front. They definitely got some push on quite a few plays.

Even with the conservative playcalling, we ended up rushing for more yards than Wisconsin (Thanks Tommy!) and the same margin of victory.

The secondary played great really. Ortt’s pass breakup on the NFL-caliber TE was one of his best coverage plays ever, IMO.

Bobby Daly again showed an amazing ability to come up with adjustments.

Frisco will be a great game.

So next year will they play Dixieland Delight for Nashville?! Seems fitting to stick with Alabama!

Okay this is pure gold. Watch until the end. Leo Davis equating Tommy's bounced snap to a Bob Ross painting "This mistake will be a bird" =D^

We talk alot about Troy's 4th down tackle against SDSU in 2021, which is arguably one of the greatest plays in Bobcat Stadium history. But that run by Tommy may have just overtaken it. That run broke their backs and almost assured us the win.

The announcers mentioned how gassed Brody was, I'm sure the others were as well, but bend don't break seemed to be the mantra of the day. Hope they all got today off!

Have to give credit to USD. They were tough and physical. Grace is a unit. Dude is just a crazy looking human being. If I never see Theis again, it'll be too soon. The dude's balance, ability to break tackles and move piles is better than an FCS RB I've ever seen.
Conner Moore beat Grace more than Grace beat Moore. Great battle all game!
I saw Grace line up opposite of Conner at least once. Presumably because Conner was eating his lunch!

Overturning the fumble return for TD was questionable. Watching on TV, there clearly wasn't clear and convincing evidence that the call on the field was incorrect. It should have 'the call on the field stands' becasue it wasn't at all clear on the replay one way or the other.

There was nothing questionable about it. His elbow touched down and the ball popped out.

I was in Section 106 and my ears were ringing after that play.

That one is tattooed into the memory for sure.

Agreed.

Looked pretty obvious on the replay. Not a fumble.

See you homies in Frisco. Also #54 Gaes is a sore loser. Walked straight off the field after the last kneel down.
For starters, congrats to you all. What a game. You had a couple breaks go your way but that’s football. You deserved the win.

Observations:

1. Great fan base. There’s always a couple rotten apples in every fan base. That goes for USD as well. But from the time we got to Bozeman we were welcomed everywhere we went. Everybody wanted to talk football. I walked in the Spur wearing a South Dakota wind breaker,a large number of people booed then laughed then offered to buy me a drink. Great people.

2. A lot of energy in the community of Bozeman all due to your football team. I even went into an art studio and they were giddy about the upcoming game. I don’t know many artists in South Dakota or Nebraska or Iowa that are football fans. I’m gonna buy a piece of art from her simply because she was pumped for your Cats.

3. Great energy in your stadium. Absolutely fantastic fan support. You knew when to crank it up. The noise affected cadence but not the play of the kids.

4. Your program and our program are mirror images of each other.

5. Your QB is a generational player. Seems like a great and humble kid.

In closing the comment above about Nick Gaes being a poor sport is absolutely 100% wrong. You had a guy on the sideline wearing a Big Sky hat that shot his mouth off in the waning seconds that was totally unwarranted. It was derogatory as hell. I heard it. Nick apparently decided to go to the locker room in order to contain any inappropriate anger or outburst in retaliation. I know Nick personally and he’s a great kid. He was the bigger person.

I totally feel that guy doesn’t represent your fan base. I witnessed many of your fans congratulating our players after the game. In a way,it was kind of a weird level of respect. Back to the guy who popped off to Nick I was standing right there. I asked him why he said what he did. He told me to F off.

I left Bozeman last night knowing our kids didn’t play their best game but played their butts off. The better team that day won the game. I earnestly believe it was the National Championship game. Now go validate it in Frisco.

I have many fond memories of my trip to Bozeman. Thanks for being great hosts. Go Cats

I was so bummed when that got overturned. But Keaton called it right away as he must have pretty quick replay up there. Leo kind of thought maybe not, but what an explosive play. Would have been so awesome if it held up!
