Im really surprised Idaho returned tickets. I just took a look at the typical visiting section where the families sit. And wow. They returned a bunch. I was thinking Idaho might send 1000-1500 fans. Guess not. But also, oh darn. Haha

Feels a little like what we saw for Cat/gris. The outcome is not likely to be pretty for them so why spend a bunch of money to watch your team get de-pantsed on national TV.

That is disappointing. I was hoping they’d have a reasonable amount of fans show. Always makes for a fun back-and-forth atmosphere.

Yeah, I've had a lot of people annoying me with work this week and I'm getting sick of it. During the playoffs I should be able to just concentrate on football.

The highest attendance I've seen at a recent (last six years) playoff game is 20,457 at the SDSU game in 2021. The stadium was rocking that day. That was a day game and semi-final, so more people could and wanted to attend.

Regarding playoff attendance, I don’t know that it’s possible with our current setup to beat that attendance mark for a playoff game.

My understanding is that attendance is counted slightly different during the playoffs than regular season.

In the regular season they count every physical body that is within the confines of the stadium, so players, coaches, trainers, refs, cheerleaders, chain gang, security, announcers, etc. Everyone.

In the playoffs they count tickets sold. So it’s the 17,777 actual seating capacity plus whatever they sell for SRO I guess?

That’s why last week looked pretty dang full, but on paper was 4-5k less than what we’ve been seeing all season. There were certainly a few less tickets sold for UTM than for Cat/gris, but a big chunk of that discrepancy is due to the way it’s counted, not because there were actually THAT many less people at the game.
