Wyoming sucks, and neither Oregon or Idaho are who they were on that game.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:12 pmThey also beat Wyoming and played Oregon to within 14 points.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 6:54 pmYou mean you don’t think the team that barely beat Cal Poly, and barely beat Weber, and barely beat Portland State is as good as us?! We heard what a tough battle it was supposed to be last time too. Then we waxed them and now the storyline is it’s cause they didn’t have a qb. Like they have Josh Allen coming back for them or something.
I just don’t think they are as good as us. I don’t know why people have such an issue with fans of this team thinking this team is very good? We’re favored by 10.5 and I still like us by about double that. I just haven’t seen anything to think they can stop our offense and I don’t think their qb is the savior some may think he is.
Idaho got thumped in Bozeman last time but they are still a top 6-8 team in the country. They have a great coach, and they are capable of playing much better than they did last time. I still expect us to win by 10 points or so at home but they are a good team.

I also love how they think us being confident means the team will be overconfident.
Gonna feel good to whup them again.
If a team needs bulletin board material at this point in the season after getting beat that bad, they are in trouble.SparkCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 9:16 pmTo add, Vigen is being ‘courted’ for a new job, and obviously our overconfidence translates directly to our team, making them also overconfident. Damn, we fans have some serious power!ECBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:43 pmAnd if the Cats’ starters played the entire game, it would have been at least 52 to 0. Adding a middle-of-the-pack QB to their offense isn’t likely to change much.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:00 pmImagine getting beat by 31, getting absolutely dominated, and thinking you will have a psychological advantage because it's hard to beat a team twice in one season (it's not actually). It's not like the first game was tight and if one or two things break differently Idaho could have won.SparkCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 6:16 pmhttps://247sports.com/college/idaho/boa ... 39/?page=1
For your viewing pleasures. Unless I missed our comments, they have a Mr. Liar Liar over there making up inaccurate statements.
It is pretty funny that we're approaching gris fan status because we're confident in our team who is *checks phone* 13-0 with the best offense in the country and the 7th best defense (2nd among teams still playing).
Reminds me when I believe a Bill and Mary fan claimed they were showing the Tribe posts made in this board to fire them up… That’s just weird and creepy.
Wasn’t Oregon’s entire oline in injured that game? Also, although the score does not reflect it, Oregon murder them on the stat line.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 9:35 pmWyoming sucks, and neither Oregon or Idaho are who they were on that game.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 8:12 pmThey also beat Wyoming and played Oregon to within 14 points.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 6:54 pmYou mean you don’t think the team that barely beat Cal Poly, and barely beat Weber, and barely beat Portland State is as good as us?! I’m not saying they’re not good, this is more a reflection of how good MSU is. We win by 3 scores.

Agreed, Idaho is a very good team but MSU is on a completely different level this year. SDSU looks to be on that same level and I think they'll beat NDSU in the rematch to advance from that side of the bracket. IMO, the only way MSU loses before Frisco is if they have a terrible game and beat themselves with a bunch of turnovers or killer penalties. The type of things they've done an incredibly good job of avoiding so far this year because they're so well coached and disciplined.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 10:45 pmExactly!
It’s like deja vu from our last playoff runs all over. If we dare think we’re gonna roll people act like we’re nuts or don’t think our opponent is good. Heard the same last week like it was nuts to expect to win by 20-30.
I think Idaho is a good team. I think we’re a GREAT team. If the line was Cats -20.5 I’d still expect to cover.
Great post! Eck is known for a lot of trickeration, so I'd expect that. In addition to everything you posted, I think gametime temp will be low 30s to high 20s, so I think that will impact the passing games as well. Harder to chuck the ball deep in cold weather when you can't feel your fingers. I feel like our offense was built for December in Montana football.BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2024 7:50 pmOur Achilles h'eel has been covered up most of the year, our dbs. 1. Our cbs have gotten considerably better on playing the ball but Our deep ball coverage is still shaky at times. Our S got better when polidore came back but teams find a way to put ortt in deep coverage and it surrenders big plays. Doesn't happen much but it is a concern. Our pass rush also hides a lot of our flaws. Thing is what worked for Idaho is what was posted earlier... chunk it deep hope theirs is better than yours. I don't see that working to a high degree with us. First off its low percentage and our offense is going to make them have to be efficient. God for us we're at home so if those big plays happen our crowd can and will help us out.
2. Offense is getting more complex. We really didn't look to run most of the game Saturday. We actually played more like an NFL team, throw the ball and run with efficiency when we have to. If Idaho comes out stacking the box we showed we don't have a problem throwing the ball. But if their coach is like most coaches they are going to start with creating their game plan around stopping the run and have something complimentary for the pass game. Tommy showed great decision making and patience Saturday. I don't see them having enough horsepower to stop us and they aren't like ucd, tough as nails.
I suspect we start slow because they throw some new stuff at us on both sides of the ball. It'll be a one score game one way or the other till about midway through the 2nd qtr. We get all the info we need coaches make changes and we go into half up 2 scores. 3rd qtr on is all us as Idaho runs out of steam, becomes very predictable on offense. Our dl pin their ears and feast dbs keep everything in front and grab a pick or two. Offense does as they please 3rd qtr on. The OC stays a step ahead and we wear on them, they pack it in. Crowd will keep us in the game through the tough sledding, then take over late 2qtr into the 3rd.....Like mentioned earlier I suspect we'll get done theatrics in the ST have from them. I don't see their coach as a huge gambler so if to doesn't make sense he's not going to do it cause he knows we'll capitalize on it. Yet I do feel he's going to have done trickery to even the playing field and give his guys juice. In these games our boys have to come out avg impose their will from the beginning take them out if the Gabe to restate what's already known... we're better.
We were 14 point favorites at UNM and won by just 4. Other than that, I don't know.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:41 amWeather will have zero to do with the outcome of this one, unless ite ends up being super windy or something. mid 30's in December...
Also, 14.5 point spread according to Sports Bet MT. Have we had even ONE game this season where the Cats didn't cover the spread?
I think there were actually several, in part because of some comically high spreads and how quickly backups went into games.91catAlum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:45 amWe were 14 point favorites at UNM and won by just 4. Sorry, I meant looking at opening lines. We weren't anywhere near 14 point favorites at UNM when it opened.91catAlum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:45 amWe were 14 point favorites at UNM and won by just 4.
