He said it would be off at Sunday press conference. Grebe needed 8 stitches in his leg, according to a source close to the situation. Assuming both will be 100 percent if they aren’t already.

Maybe reading too much into it, however, I did notice Julius participated in the Senior Day festivities, per a new video with Vigen addressing the seniors. Aside from the injury happening, I wonder if he also had decided to not redshirt and or stay here.
Or, he hasn't made a final decision yet and was encouraged to participate in Senior Day in case he doesn't return. I'd imagine it's a much easier decision to make after the season is over, and some players might change their minds with a little more time to reflect on their lives and what they want to do. Madison Jackson/Hall on the WBB team is a good example of that.
KJ and Taylor on this year team are two more examples….both elected to come back after going through senior night.

Only made 2 games this year. Apparently I was overwhelmed with the pomp and circumstance of Catgriz. 🤓
I have all my playoff tickets.
I am catching up on replays this weekend

So what exactly is the rule about blocking below the waist? The gris TE’s were doing it on almost every play. Came from the far side and dove at the knees of our DE’s multiple times. I just rewatched the first half until Brody Grebe got hit. Total BS if it’s not a penalty.

I think someone else quoted the rule, but essentially it's legal if:
1. It occurs in the tackle box, the area between the two offensive tackles. This is hard to pinpoint in real time, so there is likely a 2-3 yard buffer for how it gets called.
2. Player is not also engaged up high (chop block vs cut block)
3. Player initiating cut block is a Lineman or stationary back. Essentially means any tight end or Lineman on the line, or back in the backfield, this would also count tight end lined up next to tackle off of line of scrimmage. Just can't be a player in motion pre snap.

I saw a very similar play on a nfl Thanksgiving game (can’t remember which one), so I assume it’s pretty common.

I can’t explain why diving at a guy’s knees from a crackback position on a full run should be legal, but what I do know is I don’t see our tight ends doing it, and the Gris did get called for it once during the game.

If it’s a legal technique, why isn’t it used more often seeing as you could just target the knees of the opposing defense and knock them out of the game?

Bobby has always been known for coaching his team to go right to the edge of permissible play, and many times past it over a season.

I would even hope that Scottre gets a little more rest this weekend. I think we'll be fine with Jones, Coon, and White carrying the rock on Saturday.

Davis had a meniscal tear and no ligamentous injury. Assuming he opts to have a meniscectomy, he will be out for a week after surgery at most. I’m guessing he had surgery last week. If he opts for a meniscal repair, that’s maybe 9 month recovery at best.

I really hope he's back in a few weeks, he changes the complexity of our running game.

I agree. But I also hope he opts for the procedure that will allow him to have the best possible knees at 45 years old too.

Welcome to the group! That's very interesting info. Clearly you have some inside knowledge. With what Vigen said at his presser about being hopeful Julius will be back at some point, option number 1 seems likely.

Just happened to be out at the R after Cat Griz and ran into a few people who knew the MRI results (unofficially the source was the defensive MVP of the game, but I’m not going to name names). It was a fun night, got to visit with a bunch of our players, what a nice group of guys. Same with their families, all nice people. The unofficial report was a meniscal tear, but no specifics on what type of tear. Typically a little meniscectomy and then you’re back in business.
I don’t know if any of you were out after Cat Griz but it was a who’s who of former Cats. Highlights for me were talking to Troy Andersen and Nico Harrison.
