Big Sky Pick'em Week 12
NAU 28 at UNC 17--- Lumberjacks still have a glimmer of hope for playoff selection, If they win out NAU will be a bubble team. Either part of the last ones in or a part of the first ones left out. NAU should win this one, but it is a road game for NAU and NAU's losses have been on the road.
PSU 24 at UM 32---Vikings playing spoiler role and for fun. Griz playing for a top 16 seed and are at home.
ISU 32 at EWU 45 --- The Eagles offense should have another high scoring affair. The Bengals continue to play hard, but fall short with this one on the road.
SAC 27 at CP 24---Both of the teams seem to have somewhat given up for the season. Which team wants the W more?
WSU 20 at UI 38---Wildcats may keep it interesting for a quarter and a half, but the Vandals pull away and take the W.
MSU 35 at UCD 32---FCS game of the week. This game may determine the overall 2 seed and the Big Sky champion. This will be the biggest challenge for the Bobcats since the opening game @ FBS New Mexico. Bobcats pull out the road win with a walk off fieldgoal.

dUMb can they really lose 2 in a row in Missoula?

CATS just think the Cats are a better team from top to bottom and will come away with a convincing win over a very good Davis team.

I know a lot of people say that Bobby can coach at UM until he dies (and he just got an extension last year) but do the torches and pitchforks come out if he loses 2 in a row at washedupgriz stadium and then lose 3 in a row with a loss to the Cats to end the regular season?

Washedupgriz stadium is an all time best phrase! First I have ever heard that, and I love it!blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:36 amI know a lot of people say that Bobby can coach at UM until he dies (and he just got an extension last year) but do the torches and pitchforks come out if he loses 2 in a row at washedupgriz stadium and then lose 3 in a row with a loss to the Cats to end the regular season?

If the gris lose 2 in row in Missoula and get hammered by the Cats, there will be a very vocal group calling for his head. However, I don't think he is going anywhere for a while unless he decides to leave on his own. They were in the National Championship just last year and I think he just signed an extention last summer or before. One thing is for certian, egrizz will be a fun read if they close the season with three loses and miss the playoffs.blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:36 amI know a lot of people say that Bobby can coach at UM until he dies (and he just got an extension last year) but do the torches and pitchforks come out if he loses 2 in a row at washedupgriz stadium and then lose 3 in a row with a loss to the Cats to end the regular season?

NAU 42, UNC 7 - the Jacks have a great shot at a playoff berth if they win out and won't take this one lightly.
PSU 30, UM 28 - Bobby stubbornly sticks with the worst possible way to implement a 2 QB system after being asked about it by the media, and it costs the Griz another game they have no business losing
EWU 38, ISU 33 - this one should be fun to watch at least!
Sac 24, Poly 16 - this one should not be fun to watch at all.
Idaho 35, Weber 10 - Idaho wins easily to keep their current spot as a Top 8 playoff seed.
MSU 35, Davis 17 - Bobcats dominate the fourth quarter to turn a 21-17 lead into a three score win.

Ya, Colter and Ty talked about this and I think there is a group of very rich boosters that brought Bobby back, and they brought him back to stay. I think he's brought 600 people into the QB club, so obviously is pulling a bunch of money into the program. But if the wins and championship contending teams don't happen... what's the point? You're right though... if they lose out, boy look out. They have a bunch of damn good Senior leaders on that team too so it's not like they're super young and just having growing pains.canyoncat wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:59 amIf the gris lose 2 in row in Missoula and get hammered by the Cats, there will be a very vocal group calling for his head. On one hand I get Bobby's resistance to a "star" player, wanting team play to be the priority. Of course padding his son's stats seems a little two- faced but that's been discussed adnauseum on this forum.catatac wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 3:20 pmYa, Colter and Ty talked about this and I think there is a group of very rich boosters that brought Bobby back, and they brought him back to stay. But with Bobby's history of success, this year has really been odd. They're just not a great team. Sure, they lost some major talent to graduation, but benching your best RB, and not using the run game at all, along with swapping QBs every other play last weekend makes no sense at all. Does Bobby want out? Did his "I don't really care" comment mean more than just regarding the QB situation? Maybe he's lost interest. Maybe last year's butt kicking at the NC just made him lose his fire. Whatever it is I just can't see boosters and fans sticking with him, regardless of his extension, if they don't finish strong. I'm not convinced they'll shut down Chachere. Could be a long Saturday afternoon in griz land.

I think his "I don't really care" is just his version of "I"m just here so I don't get fined" and all the boosters understand this, whether they like it or not. They aren't going to let that sway their decision on his future. I'm sure they've fully convinced themselves that the 2023 team was a true championship level team and wasn't just the product of multiple high level opponents not realizing they should kick to Bergen. Based on that they'll convince themselves that this is just a down year and Bobbi and crew will figure it out next year with a fresh group of transfers.nanacat wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 3:43 pmOn one hand I get Bobby's resistance to a "star" player, wanting team play to be the priority. Perhaps you're right. The Gris also have 20+ seniors with major studs like Bergen and Ostmo graduating. I also won’t be surprised to see guys like Fife and Gilmann look for a different place to play next year. Next year could be disastrous.canyoncat wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:59 amIf the gris lose 2 in row in Missoula and get hammered by the Cats, there will be a very vocal group calling for his head. I'm just glad we have a man like Coach Vigen representing MSU football, and leading this team of young men.coloradocat wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 3:57 pmI think his "I don't really care" is just his version of "I"m just here so I don't get fined" and all the boosters understand this, whether they like it or not.
