Anyone go to Pocatello through Twin Bridges and Dillon and I-15? Seems the advantage of that route is you skip Island Park. The negative is it’s further. But which is fastest?

We almost always go that way. Probably takes the same amount of time, but way easier driving, less chance of getting hung up by an accident in the canyon or getting stuck for miles behind a motorhome.

According to Google maps:

191 to West Yellowstone route: 4 hr 16 min
287 through Ennis route: 4 hr 18 min
I-90/Dillon/I-15 route: 4 hr 36 min

I usually go through Ennis, as I prefer to stay off 191 whenever possible. I've also gone the Dillon way when the weather has been a little sketchy since most of the drive is interstate.

Having done all 3, I prefer the Dillon route. Minimal side roads and good cell coverage. That's important when you drive klunkers like I have for most of my life!

Is that time thru Dillon thru Butte or Twin Bridges? I usually avoid the West Yellowstone Route unless I am taking a newbie thru the area. Even then it is up one way down the other. This time of year tourist season is tapering off, but I think I would still go thru Dillon and Twin Bridges. Looks like quite a bit of road work if you go thru Island Park. I would allow half an hour to an hour extra if you go that route. If you don't get slowed down it gives you extra time to tailgate. The intersection of I86 and I15 right as you get to Pocatello has been under construction for two years and another year to go, it shouldn't be a problem. Montana and Idaho have 511 apps for your phone.

The shortest, fastest way to Dillon from Bozeman is Whitehall to Twin Brides to Dillon

Is there a particular location or parking lot for MSU fans to tailgate on Saturday before the game.

Shortest way is through Ennis and Island Park. It’s also the most scenic.

Tried for the hastily arranged trip with my wife, but apparently we have corn maze with our grandson Sunday morning so it’s TV at 4pm.

This is the second easiest game to get to driving and the easiest when you factor in the availability of tickets (and prices) compared to going to Missoula. 250 miles from Bozeman. 325 from Helena. 260 from Butte.

Just got a call from a friend that the bus departure time has been changed to 9:00 a.m. Waiting for an official confirmation.
