Not Bobcat related but this popped up in my feed. Why couldn't I have such a cool frigin name like this guy? I wish he was being recruited by the Cats.

Re: Random stuff 2024
Since this is the random stuff thread, here's my random thought\question for the day.
How many Big Sky teams would our 6th string RB (Colson Coon: behind Davis, Humphrey, Jones, White, Elliot) have a chance to start for? I'd say at least half. It is absolutely phenomenal how good the Cats are at RB.

….and warming up on deck, Unterrio Latin-Henley. I saw him on two kick off return teams, but one of those was the on-side kick. He did have a return on a later kick off though. Get some more meat on his bones and look out. He may make some noise next season and a possibly a few more games this year as well.catatac wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:45 pmSince this is the random stuff thread, here's my random thought\question for the day.

Don’t kid yourself. He was out there with the backups and still went over a hundred in less than two quarters. You can tell Vigen wants to get him on the field more.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 9:17 pmDoes he get to bring any linemen with him?catatac wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:45 pmSince this is the random stuff thread, here's my random thought\question for the day.

Maybe not, I don't know. I don't know how good all the starting RBs are for all the Big Sky teams but what I do know is that Colson Coon looked pretty damn good out there and I guarantee he's at least compete to be in the running for starting RB for some other Big Sky teams.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 9:15 pmStart for?catatac wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:45 pmSince this is the random stuff thread, here's my random thought\question for the day.

I think Coon is a good back. If you take every starter in the BSC at RB and put them on this team, they’d look better.

Re: Random stuff 2024
I think that's what we forget a lot of the time. Not taking anything away from the guys on the roster, but the system and the OL are making good RB's look great. For crying out loud, one of the best rushing games in MSU history was by a WR.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 11:04 amcatatac wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 9:55 amMaybe not, I don't know. Re: Random stuff 2024
But that was with the full 1 offense. Coon never plays with 1s, typically 2 and sometimes 3 OL and has been solid. He might not be 1 but definitely 2 or 3 on most other Big Sky teams. That is why you see most other 1s get bulk of carries.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 12:57 pmI think that's what we forget a lot of the time. Re: Random stuff 2024
So if Davis is 1 and Coon is 6 , I'd say there's not a lot of drop off from 1 to 6. I will say that there are somewhat different styles from 1 to 6 and 1-6 playing behind the 1,1 1/2 or 2 O lines should shine.
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

Re: Random stuff 2024
Not really because 3-6 normally don't play. I do think there are differences in talent. Davis great thru hole, powerful avg top speed. Humphrey much better reading hole this year, very quick, avg top speed. Jones avg thru hole, best top end speed, best receiver, White avg burst and speed, Coon avg thru hole and speed. But all 6 would be top 3 on other teams.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 6:32 pmWhen we play good teams you see the difference in talent.

Re: Random stuff 2024
I personally think Coon is good through the hole. He has a knack for squeezing through even when it's a small hole. I'd bet he's #3 this weekend after White fumbled Saturday. Didn't see him again after that.tetoncat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 7:45 pmNot really because 3-6 normally don't play. I do think there are differences in talent. Re: Random stuff 2024
I would possibly put Coon above White but not the other 3, he hasn't shown it yet against top level defense.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 7:47 pmI personally think Coon is good through the hole. Agreed. I don’t look up the exclusions but this is a screaming great deal for Cat fans. Big discount.

For a site called Awful Announcing, they could just play everything Drunken Marty says each week.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:40 amMarty's "above the tits" makes awful announcing.
