Here is another shot. The Gatton gate was moved, I'm guessing after Reno H. Sales was built, and is now outside the fitness center but closer to where the actual Gatton field was located.

Looks about what it did in 1976. We’d play intermural softball on the fields outside Culbertson, Mullen and Langford.
I'm right there with Sam on his predictions. I don't think this is a 12-0 team, although it could happen, but 11-1 is likely if we can stay healthy.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 9:19 pmGreat write up here by Sam predicting an 11-1 season for the Cats. He's pretty damn high on us, and as an unbiased observer who's life is FCS, I think he's spot on. I'm predicting 12-0, but definitely think we could slip up on the road. As a lot of us have said over the past year or two, 2024 has always been THE YEAR. Sam agrees.

If we aren't a 12-0 team, then I think our shot at a National Championship declines significantly, especially if that loss is to someone other than UM. The only team in the last 10 years to win a title and have 1 loss NOT to an FBS team, or even multiple losses in a season is NDSU. 3 of the years NDSU didn't go undefeated and won it all they lost 1 game, or 2(2015). Those 1 game seasons the loss was to SDSU. In 2015 losses were week 0 to UM and South Dakota mid-season. JMU in 2016 only lost to North Carolina. NDSU is the only team to win a title without going undefeated against the FCS since EWU in 2010.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:16 amI'm right there with Sam on his predictions. Aug 24 at New Mexico.........to me this game will have an extraordinary impact on the season.....last year we lost a nail-bitter @SDSU and I think it had an impact on the rest of the season.....if we can get an FBS win right out of the gate, that will hopefullycoloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:16 amI'm right there with Sam on his predictions. coach dan hawkins took a step back to work at Bengals where his son coaches. not sure the retirement was because of team's abilities. Davis will be toughThe MICKSTER wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 10:02 amAug 24 at New Mexico.........to me this game will have an extraordinary impact on the season.....last year we lost a nail-bitter @SDSU and I think it had an impact on the rest of the season.....if we can get an FBS win right out of the gate, that will hopefullycoloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:16 amI'm right there with Sam on his predictions. Aug 31 at Utah Tech............should be an easy win on the road
Sep 7 vs Maine..................should be an easy win
Sep 14 - BYE
Sep 21vs Mercyhurst............should be an easy win
Sep 28 at Idaho State...........should be a win
Oct 5 vs Northern Colorado.....should be an easy win
Oct 12 vs Idaho...................a potential competitive conference game at home
Oct 19 at Portland State.........should be a win but on the road
Oct 26 -BYE-
Nov 2 at Eastern Washington....should be a win but on the road
Nov 9 vs Sacramento State......another potential competitive conference game but at home
Nov 16 at UC Davis................likely our toughest conference game to date because it's on the road.....but their HC of the last 7 years, Dan Hawkins retired ....usually when a HC retires after several years of being at the helm, he usually does it when the outlook isn't very promising
....SDSU the exception.
Nov 23 vs gris.......................hopefully another shellacking at home like the last 4 years of the Brawl
As others have said, the health of Mellott will likely have a significant impact on how our season goes. However, there are significant 'stretches' of our season we could win without him....for example Aug 25th to Nov 8th...??? I said it last year and I think it's the same scenario this year......I know it's odd that a week 0 game can have a significant impact on who the winner of a game on Jan 6th is, but if we can beat UNM I think that'll have a significant impact on the team's confidence and more directly on where we get seated come playoff time. GO CATS....BEAT THE Lobos!!!
Point taken. They're picked to finish 4th in the BSC and Hero Sports have them at 21 just above Weber State, well behind Idaho(7) & Sac(8). They do have their returning QB and likely the best RB in the conference along with 20+ seniors. However, they do have a new HC and a new OC (who was recently a high school coach but was a TE coach at UCD a few years ago). Their defense finished 5th in the conference last year. I'll admit.....they do look good on paper. They open BSC play by hosting Idaho on Sep 28th, so that should be a good bellwether for both teams.Montanabob wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 11:10 amcoach dan hawkins took a step back to work at Bengals where his son coaches. not sure the retirement was because of team's abilities. He has had that title since Choate was head coach.smith427 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 4:09 pmIs this new, coach Daly being listed as "Assistant Head Coach"?

Nice memory, only game I've ever been to at Bobcat stadium west.
Any Seahawks fans here? Does it look like he's going to make the team?
Not a Seahawks fan, but I've been following their roster projections and none that I've seen have Ty making the 53-man roster. I'd guess he has a good shot at being on their practice squad though.BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 6:23 amAny Seahawks fans here? Does it look like he's going to make the team?
