Portal Opened again Yesterday
The Transfer Portal is back open. We usually lose 5-10 this time of year. Most are players that don't expect to see playing time this fall but you never know. Also the Portal takes and the Portal gives back. It will be interesting what Vigen and Company can find and attract. Kicker? D Tackle? LB?

Re: Portal Opened again Yesterday
Where does our spring ball schedule fall compared to other schools? I know we're later than Missoula but how about other FCS/G5 teams? If we're later does that have any impact on guys leaving if they want to finish the spring to see where they are on the team? I guess guys that are leaving would leave any time regardless, and have plenty of time to get picked up, but just a thought.

Heard that Tommy and 7 others will be entering once spring ball wraps up. TCU is offering them all huge NIL deals.

I also saw in a Facebook comment that TCU is hiring Denarius McGhee away from the Saints to be their new offensive coordinator.

Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport reporting TCU is sending out a charter plane to pick them all up.

Re: Portal Opened again Yesterday
Maybe time for a little role reversal from when a Cat enters the portal?
What's going on in Zoo? I hear the coach is taking a G5 job and flipped the bird to the entire team on his way out. Funny how they lose players but we don't, its obvious our culture is just better. They'll be lucky to win 7 and make the playoffs next season. Decided they were sick and tired of losing?
Am I doing this right?

Uncle Denny likely taking care of him. If not, good for him to pass up a larger amount elsewhere to continue to be an afterthought in the Gris offense. Hopefully they don’t find out he needs the ball more. Let Grandpa Ostmo have his touches.

Re: Portal Opened again Yesterday
I would suspect that we might see a name or two from the Bobcats enter the portal next week after the spring game has been completed. Usually someone who is not happy with playing time and looking for that opportunity elsewhere....

Re: Portal Opened again Yesterday
I don’t think the question is if it happens, the question is who it’ll be?
Hopefully nobody from the projected 2 deep. But conversations are had at the end of spring ball letting players know where they stand. For some, that won’t be good, or as good as they wanted.
Just hope it’s not too many. And if it’s nobody, that’s great too. Just not holding my breath on that.

I was excited to see what he could do in a couple years, seems like a very talented kid. But he had pretty much no chance of seeing the field this year so I get it.

Re: Portal Opened again Yesterday
I was just thinking earlier today that nobody had entered the portal yet. It was always a matter of time.
Hopefully he finds somewhere to get on the field. He might have worked out eventually here but wouldn't have been this year outside of injuries.

Maybe not, but we have missed that RJ type player. I think he was a back up RB/FB at um.

And did they move him to RB because he wasn't cut out for LB or because he was more needed at RB. Feels like we could use some LB depth.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 7:45 pmMaybe not, but we have missed that RJ type player. I think he was a back up RB/FB at um.
