National Championship Postives

Post by gris_h8er » Sun Jan 07, 2024 4:40 pm

1) gris lost
2) the distance between SDSU and the rest of the FCS is significantly smaller than I thought. They smoked the gris but didn’t out play the gris by as much as I hoped and thought they would’ve.

I think the weight lifting has fallen back since the Choate era but that can be fixed. Call the right plays in Missoula and Moscow and don’t have an empty backfield on 3rd and 1 and this season looks way different.

Fallen back? We've literally never been stronger im the trenches. Never were outmatched on the lines in any game we played. If anything its carried on since Choate left at a higher level.

I saw the lines performing less consistently against the gris than they did last year. So either the gris outsmarted the the lines or they were stronger. Obviously can’t say with certainty but lean towards the physical explanation.

The lines did perform better than I expected against NDSU. That game was entirely on the coordinators.

Not to take away from my criticism of the coordinators.

I agree on the strength. However, some of House’s play calls were head scratchers.

They lose like 35 seniors. It could be anyone’s season next year.

Head scratchers is a nice way of putting it…

They have 34 seniors, dunno how many still have a year left. I was disheartened to hear that Gronowski has another year if he so chooses.

I heard that 19 are definitely done and the rest can opt for another. Still a positive

The Jacks OC took the Northwestern OC job and Gronowski is from Illinois. I think there is about a 98% chance MG is playing in the Big 10 next year.

Gronowski might be the most overrated player in the FCS.

I expected him to play way better than he did. Are we sure that’s the same kid that was in brookings against the cats?

Name an FCS team he could transfer to where he isn't the starter immediately. And let me save it for you: we're not one of them.

depends on who follows the OC to Northwestern.
i fully expect very few to go if the qb comes back.
