Really? Thank you for sticking by my side, now I'm outta here? Unbreakable bond??? Talk about empty words.
I am really struggling with this portal thing. Be patient with me. I'll eventually adapt.
These guys are so full of shjt.

Valdez was probably the most real. Thanks the coaches, MSU and his teammates. Then I’m entering the portal. No trite euphemisms.

Herder just posted the Giovani McCoy entered the portal along with Marcus Harris the CB. Vandals getting it worse than the Cats.

I’d be pretty surprised if Rollins doesn’t come here.

WOW McCoy in the portal is just HUGE!!! The FCS is losing all its best talent to the combination of NIL and the portal.

Me, too. Unless he has a good FBS offer or a significantly better FCS (NIL) offer.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Unreal.
Changes need to be made for the FCS to have any hope of hanging on to their most talented players.

Man, you could put one heck of a team together from just Big Sky transfers.

What position on the OL do we think he'd play? I'd say both tackle positions are locked up. Is he a guard?

I hate it…. Just frickin hate it.
Even Idaho. I hate that they are losing these players, as a fan I want to watch the cats play against these guys like McCoy for their whole career.

That is probably a question for VIM or someone…. All I know is that he is one of the better MT recruits we have seen over the last several years.

There is definitely a script for transfer announcements.
“Thank you to (insert names here) blah, blah, blah
‘with that being said….’
All that stuff I wrote actually really didn’t matter…I’m outta here.”
I bet 90% of the announcements I’ve read have had that phrase in the middle. So much for creative writing college courses!
P.S. This is all sad to watch as a fan.

He’s played guard and tackle. Wehr has played guard and tackle. Let em duke it out or play wherever they’re most comfortable.

I was watching Idaho in the playoffs and I cringed every time the announcer kept mentioning Idaho’s young talent, it’s almost like FCS playoff games are live recruiting videos for bigger schools. I was expecting them to get hit hard, they also have a couple young lineman I would expect to be getting NIL offers as well.

This is going to be a bit of a rant, so i apologize in advance. You're exactly right. This sucks. There are ways to mitigate this issue for the smaller schools but that would require the NCAA to give a damn about the smaller schools, which is demonstrably untrue to this point. I'm not a big donor, I'm not even a medium donor, but I belong to QBC and give to both the bobcat club and the collective, and the way this looks and feels right now makes it hard to be enthused to keep giving money that won't ever match the next tier up. Same is true I'm sure for mwc teams, etc. This NIL/portal tandem will render obsolete the redshirt, and by extension the developmental program. I don't know how you ever maintain the quality of play if everyone's 5-6 impact players, or more, get plucked every year. I know I'm whining but i honestly don't know how Montana state, the fcs, the g5 etc on up to maybe the top 25 or 30 programs survive in this new environment. Hoping some of you smart people can give me some insight.

You survive via reverse osmosis. Not sure if that actually applies to what I'm trying to say, but you need to get dropdowns and transfers from other schools be they JC, FCS or FBS. MSU has done well with this already. Chambers, Davis, Thomas, McCullouch, Alexander, Polidore, Reed, Hehl....
MSU may be gaining more than it's losing with it. It's nice to keep guys around for familiarity sake but ...
