Saw a tweet today saying that there are already over 4,000 players in the Transfer Portal. On Day 1. Sheesh, at least there are plenty of guys to potentially replace those who are leaving!

I wonder how many of those don’t find a home either.

I remember reading something last year that it’s a surprisingly high % of players in the portal that don’t actually get on with another team.

It doesn’t take much to dismantle a basketball team. It’s a game typically dominated by 2-3 players. Just losing Battle and Okafor would’ve stripped the team down. And just because they had a bad night and lost to Rocky doesn’t mean they’re going to be a complete disaster. Virginia and Ralph Sampson lost to Chaminade. I think UM lost to Tech in 2019-20 and finished 14-6 in the BSC.

The OL room is literally loaded. MSU’s second unit this year might’ve been one of the best in the BSC. And the guys coming up are very very good. Look at the roster. Jefferson, Mastel, Fleischmann, Nillson, Old, Richards, Carr, Nyland, Sampson, Perkins, Luhmann.

People freaked out about losing Sessions and Wood too. Everything turned out fine. Not everything needs to be negative.

It's just so disheartening to see that these guys would rather chase the NIL money than legitimately compete for the natty next year with a senior-laden team and O line.
Not sure how we'll ever hang onto talented seniors anymore.
I heard Rush was going next, and Valdez is probably next from what I hear, both lines will be gutted. As a fan I hate seeing it.

I don’t like it either, but it is what it is.

Also, you’re wrong that it’s all about money. It’s money AND playing at a higher level. And honestly, if I were them, I’d do the exact same thing.
