We aren't the Utes, but neither are the Utes currently. They played Saturday without their starting QB, 2 starting OL, their top 2 WRs, top TE, down their #2 and #3 RBs, starting LB, and 2 starting DL. Using an FBS game to see what our game might look like isn't a great comparison. Why can't we score 31 points on them? We scored that many or more both times we played them last year.justafan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:04 amno I am not. I am saying we are not the utes so the dweebs are going to score some points on us and we are not going to score 31 points on them. hence I think it will be a close game.

Weebs slows the offense down but can't stop the Bobcats. Our defense still gives up a few big plays but generally plays a good game.
Bobs 31
Wilds 17
Bonus prediction: We have a passing TD! We have only had 2 all year, none by Chambers, but he breaks through in this game and throws a dime to the TE.

Re: Cats @ Weber State Predictions
Hopefully. It was either 3rd or 4th (4th I think) down, on that first foreshadowing failed TD against Utah Tech, where the right side of the line and Snell behind them as the FB blew open a clear path to the end zone. Sean want left. I’m hopeful that extra work on goal to go plays will clean that stuff up. I’d love to see Snell at FB a lot more often, just like Matt Miller used RJ.CodyCat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 7:09 amIf our line can blow up the d-line on first and goal, it wont take Sean four tries.catatac wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 4:17 pmLots of things I want to see but if I have to boil it down to just a couple..... I want us to score a TOUCHDOWN, every time we are first and goal inside the five. Not just this game but any game..... ever. Also do NOT want the plan to be to give Sean four tries in a row to ploy it in. Figure it out House. That should be 99.9% success with this OL and with all the weapons we have at the skill positions.![]()

Re: Cats @ Weber State Predictions
last year we had Tommy who pretty much ran wild in both games and Patterson and Taco and Lane and Ifanse for one of the games. I think Chambers is a stud but I think we are better with Tommy running the show. I will be happy with any win we get.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 8:38 amWe aren't the Utes, but neither are the Utes currently. I like it, but I'll be shocked if we go on the road to Weber and win by 20.

SportsBetMT has Cats at -3.5 and o/u at 65.5.
I'd take the Cats and under.

Ah, the old reverse psychology ploy. Very sneaky.WSUWILDCAT wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:41 amYou stop our running game and you stop us. I haven't seen anything from this team yet that I can confidently say our passing game could pick up the slack.
I hate to say it but I dont see us winning this one. I think our defense can keep the score low (they only allowed 24 points to Utah) but I dont think our offense overall can give them the help they will need. Very low scoring game but I believe the bobcats pull away late for a 20-10 win.

Re: Cats @ Weber State Predictions
Winning at Weber is never easy and this won't be either. But we have won 9 of our last 11 in Ogden and 16 of our last 20 overall and we have the better team. 35-24 'Cats.

41 - 20 Bobcats win again …
Our O-line and stable of good RBs wear them down in the 2nd half

Re: Cats @ Weber State Predictions
This is a great analysis imo. Not only is Weber struggling throwing the ball, but MSU is night and day from last year in the secondary. Both corners and safeties are improved and deeper. Okada hard to replace at nickel but isn’t a full time secondary position.WSUWILDCAT wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:41 amYou stop our running game and you stop us. Weber is tough at home on defense and MSU is struggling to find or re-find its identity on offense.
Last year the OL was the story, this year it might be the secondary or entire defense. Not 100% sold on that yet but the SDSU performance was a good start.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Why do you say they haven't found their identity on offense?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 1:24 pmThis is a great analysis imo.
