I remember the 2014 playoff game in Bozeman vs SDSU was played in a blizzard as well. Probably wasn't as cold as this will be, though.
I played in that game and it was if I remember correct 5 degrees at kickoff. The nuts thing about is Friday was something like 45 degrees and sunny. Then that storm blew in and man that was a cold game. Only played on the punt team. Only punted one time that game and it was in the 4th quarter.
According to official game record on the msu website, it was 1 degree at kickoff in the 2014 game.
Either during the game or after the game immediately it was six below zero if I remember correctly. I’ll have to see if I remember how to post pictures here when I get a minute
The coldest game I remember going to was a Portland State at home. Dont remember the year but it was around -12 by the end. If I remember we were up like 30 at half and won by 40+. PSU looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there that day.
That game vs Portland State was November 10, 2012. I only know this because when I put my coveralls on last week to wear to the W&M game, I found my old paper ticket in my pocket.

Hadn't worn those heavy coveralls since that game - until last week.
Denarius and the boys took it to them right out of the gate that day in spite of the bitter cold.

Latest forecast for Brookings on Saturday is for a HIGH of 10 degrees, not including wind chill. Winds picking up, currently showing gusts to 22, and chance of snow. That is some crap ass cold weather. Don't know that it will help one team or the other a great deal but as others have posted, if the weather takes the passing game out of the equation (or severely limits it)..... man I'd have a hard time believing they can run the ball on us as good as we can run it on them. Not being cocky, just observing.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

MSU was up 59-10 (!!) at the half and won 65-30.

Fact is, I forgot I even had them until I spotted them deep at the end of my coat closet as I looked for warm clothes for the W&M game. I was definitely under-dressed for the Weber game and Gameday. I also found some stick-on foot warmers at Ace Hardware that I wore to the W&M game inside my boots. I thought I was going to need a fire extinguisher they got so hot! If I was going to the game in Brookings, those would definitely be in the bag.

Same here in Laurel. Hard to imagine how things can be so bad just east of us. Enjoy it while it lasts!

So this is third hand - a friend's girlfriend's daughter dates a football player. Latest word is SDSU campus entirely closed. The campus is empty. No Staff. They are looking into postponing the game. We are trying to confirm so i did not want to start a Panic new post based on rumor that has some legs but not confirmed. Things looking really bad that way - roads, airports, campuses all closed. Hoping they can pull something off.
UPDATE:

So SDSU definitely closed today. If closed tomorrow, not sure how they put on a game???

Regarding which team will benefit from this weather: Sometimes the Bobcats are difficult to figure. For example in the W and M game we came out flat and couldn't move their O line off the ball. Same thing happened in the Weber game. Yet against UM, we came out from the gitgo running the ball on them. I guess it just takes some adjustments. I would love to see us have a great start blowing their D line off the ball, but let's be realistic. SDSU only gives up 85 yards in rushing per game which is number one in the FCS. Even in bad weather, Tommy and Sean will need to be able to hit some passes to loosen them up and prevent them from just stacking the box on every play.

Unless MSU’s team can’t get there, it’s not getting postponed. I live in Brookings and have friends on staff. The staff that isn’t on campus is academic staff, not athletics or facilities. There is about 5 inches of snow on and it isn’t going to snow tomorrow. I don’t think they are going to postpone because the western part of the state is buried. We’ve had worse weather and played in it many times. Unless the team can’t travel, 0 % Chance this game is getting postponed based on what’s going on right now, in Brookings, with the weather.

Totally fair.
Keep in mind that several times had stingy run defenses... until they played us. And then we blew their rush D out of the water.
griz fans; keeping it classy and gracious in winning since ... well, never.

It's a hazard to players and fans at this point. Somebody needs to do something about this travesty.
I mean, what do they expect us to do!? Wear cleats and dress accordingly!?
That's just crazy talk.

If you scroll down on the link the admin offices were also closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe there's even less activity than communicated through the site but it sounds like today is the same as the last two. They are still letting students stay on campus and some of the food service is still open so things are probably ok. Good thing the game isn't until Saturday. As far as postponing, I thought the weather was supposed to be bad again next week so I doubt they'd push it more than a day.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

I was the idiot that stayed at that game til the bitter end. They didn't announce the 50/50 winner until about the 4 minute mark in the 4th quarter. I figured everybody else had left, so I stood a great chance of winning the pot. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.
