Three keys.

Darian played like only Darian can. Nice to see that.

Second, MSU is so deep and Binford keeps rotating. Idaho was absolutely gassed in the fourth and started missing shots. Bea and Gandy played all but 2 minutes.

Third, Cats kept composed and never looked rattled.
Yep…as you noted, Darian had a night to behold…shooting left handed, then right handed, then left handed, stealing, rebounding, intercepting….and sets a career high 32 point mark!

It will go unnoticed and unsung but Gabbi Mochi also had a career high tonight going 7 of 9 and scoring 21 points! A couple big big 3’s in second half during the comeback.

Down the stretch you had Kola coming up big on inside. Then Beattie, Limardo, Mochi coming up with big boards to extend possessions.

To be truthful I had given up on them…being down that much early in 4th with Idaho being hot…then it was sheer joy watching them claw back!

I know I’ve only been back in the country 8 years and watching womens games. But the only comeback I can remember that was this big was a couple years back in Missoula….I think it was about the same deficit…like 14 or 15 points starting Q4 where Freiji tied it with a shot to send to OT and then finished them off in OT…that was probably most satisfying comeback but this ranks high on the list.

I am with you BobcatDel. Was following on ESPN gamecast and at 77-66 turned it off. Probably 40 minutes later checked to see the damage. Totally wowed when I saw the score. AMAZING comeback.

Great game! Amazing comeback……… but our 3pt defense is horrendous. We won and I’m happy that we played tough, but they were shooting 3s without a MSU player being in the same zip code. I didn't even see an attempted close out the whole game! After all that our depth was an advantage, but the 3 point defense needs to step up a notch!

Defending the 3 was bad, you're right. I'm not sure if it is a weakness of the switching man defense against a team that screens and moves the ball well. When MSU has lost to UI, it is usually for this very problem.

Now now now….what I actually think, is that this was all the strategy Coach Bin was using…it looked like the old WWCC game plan to me! I’ve seen it used many times. You can hear the pre-game plan as the coach lays it out…”OK ladies we are going to let them shoot from Wherever and Whenever they want until they are Cocky and Comfortable and their arms and wrists are Worn out…..then with 7:48 seconds remaining in the game we will clamp down and NOT let them score another field goal for the rest of the game and with about 4:30 remaining we will NOT let them score again…even a measly free throw..”

To me it looks like the Lady Bobcats executed it to perfection! 😎
