Re: WBB vs. Sac State-Big Sky tourney
Darian needs to settle in. Playing a little bit frantic right now. Need to survive this first game with such a young team...
If the Cats can play a little bit more under control we should be able to win...but it won’t be easy.

Couple big threes from limardo and Martell, cats up by 12
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Re: WBB vs. Sac State-Big Sky tourney
Ashley Van Sickle comes in, everything calms down, and we are playing so much better. Threes by Limardo and Martell to give us a little bit of separation.

Sac defender is LAYING ON THE OFFENSIVE PLAYER'S BACK. Called a jump ball

Tori Martel is so smooth, so fun to watch play.

All three Boise kids in at the same time. They all seem to be pressing a little bit.

Re: WBB vs. Sac State-Big Sky tourney
Why do the Sac State sports teams all wear those long sleeve green shirts? Seems like half the football team and not really sure why a basketball player would wear them?

We get the somewhat ugly 66-55 win. Idaho looked a lot better than us against NAU.

Cats got up 20 in the 4th quarter and win by 11. MSU will get blown out tomorrow if they play like this again, but it's another day and it'll start back at 0-0!

It wasn't a perfect game by any means but the game against Idaho will not be a blowout by either team. There's a certain mentality of Bobcat fans that lived through the streak. It's about tempering expectations so that defeats aren't as soul crushing. I finally got over mine a couple of years ago. I'm expecting a great game tomorrow and, win or lose, I know this team will play hard and compete.
Awe he'll, I expect a win!!!

For a conference that really does have a pretty good reputation end to end for schools, teams, coaches, players — these two announcers are an absolute embarrassment. I was wondering how soon we’d hear from Krista Redpath about all the connections from current Bobcat players from Texas and Missoula back to Krista herself or um and the griz. She did not dissapoint. I almost expected a couple of them to come out on the court in griz apparel after halftime.

I’m a little late getting back to this but I want to second (or third) the comments in this thread about Ashley. Somehow she sneaks under the radar, but if we had hockey’s “stars of the game” I’d definitely be voting one for Ashley tonight. She really was our bacon-saver in the first quarter and then again when she and Lexi started their crime wave together — stealing and layins. Ashley is a very quick-footed defender and does not foul much. She’s an excellent passer, and her three-point shooting has become timely. Ashley, if you are here, stand up and let us give you a hand!

Have to agree with your comments about Ashley. She is a talented point guard that could start on any Big Sky team. Coach Binford has gotten her to agree to be a reserve behind Darian and I’m sure that wasn’t an easy task. Ashley is a floor General that brings the game into perspective and in limited minutes has a significant impact on the game. I looked at halftime stats last night and was surprised that the reserves has equaled points scored to the starters in a lot less minutes. She has had a huge impact on the success of the Freshmen and after a couple years of injuries is finally able to show her talents.
Also, I don’t think the announcing crew is bad. Didn’t enjoy the habit of calling the Griz players by their first names, but I think they did their research and was prepared for the game. They were very complimentary of Coach Bin and what she’s built in Bozeman and called a fair game with interest in every program. I think ....... I know as Bobcats fan’s we carry a chip on our shoulder against anything that has to do with the Griz, but I enjoyed the broadcast and both announcers knowledge of the BSC and our players. I really love the historical perspective!
Tonight is going to be a slugfest and the Bobcats will be ready. I’ve got to figure out how to stay up so late to watch the game!

I've not been able to watch any games all season but have followed the threads. It seems to me that in a tourney with the pressure of 1 and done, it's a pretty natural thing to come out tight and have a bad game. This game tonight will give us a much better view on where the Cats are mentally and physically for the tourney. I think the starters will settle in and play a controlled game. They have gotten the bad game thing out of their system I hope.Catlady wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 6:38 amHave to agree with your comments about Ashley. I agree, and fully expect a close game tonight because MSU will play better on the offensive end than they did last night. Idaho did play substantially better than MSU last night to my eyes, but as I said today is a new day!rivercat wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 12:02 amIt wasn't a perfect game by any means but the game against Idaho will not be a blowout by either team. Lexi is going to be a problem for MSU opponents for a long time! Her hustle last night and silky smooth jumper got the Bobcats back on track. Binford has been masterful with her substitutions and having a feel for what the Bobcats need at that time on the court. Lexi came into the game and immediately had an impact. I love her offense, but last night her defense really changed the tone of the game. Looked nothing like a Freshman.
We enjoy a wealth of riches in the paint. Lexi, Kola, Skye and Gabbi all are making a difference, but I really like Lexi’s offense. But in the game against Idaho tonight is going to be about rebounding. The team with the most rebounds will win this game. Time to bring your hard hat and lunch bucket and go to work!
Didn’t realize all the family ties that Lexi has to the Griz, glad she made the very wise decision to become a Bobcat!

Re: WBB vs. Sac State-Big Sky tourney
Observations from Courtside.
Our defense was outstanding against a very fast opponent. Solid fundamentals and excellent help shut down numerous hornet opportunities. Our bigs really altered and stopped numerous short range shots.
The team was focused and intense. We converted from defense to offense quickly and the focus was downcourt.
Lexi's anticipation on defense was exceptional and her energy going after the ball was the best I've ever seen from her. Her offense was outstanding as always.
As usual, Torri was quietly efficient and produced her normal results.
The team played at a very high level no matter who was in the game.
If we bring the same focus and intensity tonight it will be a great CATS win.

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."
