I will guarantee you something went on behind the scenes at MSU. When a guy like Vim says he wouldn't take a role like that, it's pretty solid info.ibleedblue wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:38 pmA few here were very vocal that he’d NEVER take a coordinator role, head coach only. Today is the worst.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Tough? Maybe, maybe not. But definately know reality. And we live in a state and area that's afraid if it's own shadow( breath). Facts is facts.

It's just been said several times, by some very good posters that he wouldn't leave a HC gig for anything less than another HC gig.CatBlitz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:44 pmI gotta admit I'm not as active on here anymore so apologies for missing something. For those of you wondering what he’ll be making, here’s a link from the previous staffs salaries as of 2017. Choate position equivalent was $490k

Yes haha. I'm not sure how to feel towards Choate at the moment. Gotta let it stew for a bit and get more info first I think.CatBlitz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:47 pmOk yeah. This isn’t the first time Choate has been offered a job as a position coach at the FBS level. Texas is a pretty good gig, but it’s still confusing. Best of luck to him and his family.

Must amend initial tweet: Jeff Banks formerly of Alabama has been hired as ST coordinator and associate head coach. Choate is linebackers coach.

I’m going to go on record and say something broke in the Athletic Department. This move doesn’t compute for Choate. I completely get Ioane moving on, but Choate for a lb coach job? Goofy as hell.
Good luck to him and thanks for all the memories and dedication.

Even a promise of a dc job in a few years wouldn’t seem like enough to get him to move.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:03 pmBigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:02 pmI’m going to go on record and say something broke in the Athletic Department. Completely agree. Something happened today or this week that we don't know about. This move for Choate makes absolutely NO sense. I get Kane, but in a sense, that one is a little confusing also. Just because with Choate gone, Kane would have to think he was a good candidate to take the HC job. I really think something happened......mslacatfan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:03 pmBigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:02 pmI’m going to go on record and say something broke in the Athletic Department.
