Amazing catch! And, wasn't Aaron Mason a smooth runner? I always enjoyed watching him run.

How can high schools play football, grade schools play football, D1 schools play football, but FCS can’t?
It’s astounding and devastating. Devastating in the sense that leaders can’t figure it out, while high school AD’s who mow grass on the weekends could. So pathetic and pathetic that they let the Chinese flu weirdos determine what they should do. MSU Bobcat football won’t be the same after this.

1.Season Ticket renewals 2.Tailgate renewals 3.Student turnout at the games 4.Sponsorship renewals 5.TV coverage (Root Sports and SWX) both may not be in existence next year due to this 6.Student Athlete commitment, knowing all other divisions are playing, etc.CelticCat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:47 pmHow will MSU football be different.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:42 pmHow can high schools play football, grade schools play football, D1 schools play football, but FCS can’t?

It won’t be the same after this year and it’s a shame the BSC and the rest of the FCS bent for the Chinese Flu. Argue that point all you want, but everybody else is playing and there is no denying that.

Re: Off season random *^%$
Kind of hard to have to keep explaining this. It's $$$. The NCAA requirements for COVID testing are prohibitive for schools like MSU, or more appropriately for a conference like the Big Sky. MSU and UM could probably find a way to afford it, but unfortunately in this case, we have to follow along with our conference brethren, whether we like it or not. I also wish that MSU was allowed to schedule 1/2/3 non-conference games, and I think it's stupid that the BSC won't allow us to do that, but I get it. It is what it is. Seems to me like the team is setting a great example of worrying about what they can control, and not letting things out of their control get to them. We should all take note. MSU Bobcat Football will be fine, we are a very strong program on the rise and we have amazing leadership, from the top down. We will come out stronger when this is all over.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 6:42 pmHow can high schools play football, grade schools play football, D1 schools play football, but FCS can’t?

I think you lose credibility when you continue to use the term "Chinese flu," for the record. I think it's childish and xenophobic. Call it coronavirus or COVID like the rest of the adults in the room.

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'have figured it out' or "high schools can play football".BozoneCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 11:11 amKind of hard to have to keep explaining this. It's $$$. I think once we get to a point in time where Covid doesn't effect every single aspect of life, message board topics will stop going that route as well. Doesn't seem very close to me unfortunately.

I was at the game and had a great time. Annoying we let it go to OT but what a great finish!

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Off season random *^%$
Some observations here:
- Matt McKay is a different QB then what MSU has had over the past two years (maybe since Prukop took his final snap).
- The starting o-line here is (LT-RT): Connor Wood, Zach Redd, Taylor Tuiasosopo, Lewis Kidd, Joe McElroy.
- Coaches really liked Zach at guard when he was a redshirt freshman in 2018 and wanted to experiment with Tui at center. Appears this combo is working.
- Saw McElroy at RT and immediately checked the roster for #61 Jake Sessions (started at RT all season after Wood went down with injury) and he isn't listed anymore. Choate did say some of our seniors were slated to graduate this December and Jake appears to be one of them. He's likely moving on with his CET degree.
- This is against the second team defense and Brody Grebe is #15 coming off the edge at the Buck position.

Some observations here:
- Matt McKay throws a rocket...
- ...which unfortunately landed right in the hands of true freshman LB Danny Uluilakepa!
- Jaharie Martin with some first team reps in the backfield. He, Hosey, and Lane Sumner all will have opportunities to carry the load as Isaiah (and Troy) sit out this spring. Also, Hosey had an incredible offseason per the people I've talked to.
- Cool moment alert! Chase Benson ran with Danny down the sideline to cheer him on into the endzone.
- Holy smokes we have football!
