The segment about Mitch Greibel was great guys. I thought it was funny when one of you mentioned that if your son played for Eastern you would still cheer for the Cats. There is a story just like that right now with BYU QB Zach Wilson. His dad played for Utah and the family has always been die hard Utes fans. Utah didn't offer him and he went to BYU. 1st night of the season this year when Utah and BYU played, his parents were interviewed and said they are all in on BYU now. That has to be an extremely tough pill to swallow. Of course you want to support your kids but switching allegiances to the hated rival... Dang. I don't think there is any way I could root for the Griz, even if my son was on the team.

I think you'd be surprised once it's family involved. I have a friend joining me for the game this weekend and his son does track for UM. He's a diehard Cat fan and remains that today. It might be a bit different being that it's track and not football but I don't think so. At least not for him. He's embraced it the last four years and is having a great time. When his son competes he rocks a maroon tee and Griz hat. And has no problem doing it whatsoever.

But last year at Cat Griz he was right there with me and the rest of MSU fans loving every minute of it.

I personally don't think it would be hard at all. I'm a Cat until I die. I'll support this program no matter what. But if my son or daughter has an opportunity to go to Missoula, and that's what they decide to do I'll wear maroon for a few years I guess...

It's finally HERE. Cat/Griz. How has this season gone by so fast? It was even a 12 game season. I digress.

We recap the Davis win, preview the game against the griz and share some audio from two former players - a snippet from our Travis Lulay interview and some audio from an unreleased interview with Cory Nicol, former defensive back for the Cats from 2008-2009. I'll release the full interview with Cory either tomorrow or Friday.

My question wasn’t depressing at all! The team THIS year is good. Very good. Pessimists, North Dakota fans, and other doubters will point to our UND loss. Almost 2 months ago. To a playoff team. Let that sink in. Our worst loss, hands down, no question, was a game we should have won 15 different ways. To a playoff team.

To some our season seemed over. We were on a 2 game skid. Needed to win out. Even over the next 4 games questions abounded. Oh it was just northern Colorado. Oh it was just southern Utah. They’ll lose to Davis. Oh you got lucky against Davis. They can never beat the griz playing that way. Oh you beat the griz by 5 td’s? That was fluky. Mighty Albany coming in town. Don’t get cocky! Albany is a playoff team. It will be a battle. Oh we got past them? Well Austin Peay is the hottest team in the country. Apparently hotter than MSU. This offense will give us all we can handle.... oh beat them by 2 td’s as well?

We worry way too much about the opponent and miss what is right in front of our faces. This team, right now, as it stands as I type this, is healthy and AS good as any team in the country. If I’m honest, I was more frustrated with the sentiment the last 2 games than I am this week. I understand why people have questions this week. But how people could watch this team the last month and think Albany and Austin Peay could beat us was perplexing to me. We were simply better. Much better.

Tomorrow is obviously the test. I won’t say we’re much better than north Dakota. I’m not an idiot. I think we’re as good as they are for sure. I think we have matchups that favor us. I think we’ll win and boost our program for years to come. I think NDSU hasn’t seen a team like us, more importantly a D like us yet this season. And I think if we somehow lose, it will no chance, no how, no way in hell be by the 19 and a half or whatever the spread is!

Like I said, I get the feelings this week. We’re playing the best and I don’t think anyone in our program would want it any other way. But if you believe what your eyes are showing you, you should fully expect to win this game. My only point.

Talk to you guys in the morning. Saturday will be a day I hope we remember forever. For good reasons!
