No harm in trying to be first, I guess... I'll just say I was hoping we'd end up in eastern or weber's bracket. And that's not because those teams aren't excellent teams, because they are.

Irrational exuberance. Let's just be keeping our eye on the ball this weekend.

While I certainly appreciate the optimism, we're not there yet. Our D might keep us in it for a while but I'm not sure our offense could score even once against their D. Ndsu is a machine, with no weak spots to attack. None. A team like EWU that's playing better defense now, might give them a game. But MSU has some holes that you just can't have, if you wanna beat those guys.
Give MSU another year to figure out QB and get healthy at LB, and we'll be a lot closer.

Actually, we should be focused on IWU only right now, but I'm good with it.

I completely agree! Of course I said the same thing about Weber and ISU so maybe I'm just an optimist.
The fact that both these birds can be killed with the same stone is kinda funny when you think about it.

Yeah, NDSU has only given up more than 17 points ONCE this season91catAlum wrote: ↑Fri Nov 23, 2018 8:55 amWhile I certainly appreciate the optimism, we're not there yet. I wanted this side of the bracket with NDSU. Why play another Big Sky team in second round? It does nothing for us. We probably won’t make a deep run this year. Hell, I'm very pleased with the progress this year and anything from here on out is gravy. My family celebrated thanksgiving yesterday by including a replay of the CAT griz game and we all started talking about this very topic. NDSU is the flagship standard. What better way to measure your teams positives and negatives than playing the Bison in their own house? Give our guys a taste of “This is what level you need to be at” to compete for a National Title.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Fri Nov 23, 2018 6:37 amNo harm in trying to be first, I guess... I’m not overlooking UIW, but like was stated on another thread, the players need to focus on UIW, we as fans on a fan forum can discuss whatever, whenever we feel like.
Playing against the Bison would be huge for our underclassmen. The Cats have a winning season. They have beat the grizz three in a row. They have made the playoffs. All which were team goals at the start of the last offseason. It’s gravy time now, keep this rolling as long as it will last. But when it’s done, it’s time to assess the season and set the goals for the next. What better measure for a team than playing the FCS flagship program? If our Cats have a deep run in them in the future, we should want to play the Bison and not another Big Sky team in the second round this year.
It’s pretty simple Bobcat fans, if you want to be the BEST, you’ve got to PLAY and BEAT the best! And the best right now is, you guessed it, the NDSU Bison.
Here’s to pounding UIW tomorrow and heading to Fargo for a showdown!

This is a great way to look at things to be sure.

I'm on the bandwagon!
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Thanks to Peter Fields, NDSU doesn’t really like us that much. That said, if they get a big lead, they definitely won’t let off the gas until it is all over just to prove a point. Oh well, we have to get past the first one before we can even think about the second one.

The Cats have a much better quarterback this year than 76 as far as throwing the ball. The 76 team got to play the Bison twice and beat them 10-3 in the semifinals, so I agree this will be a great guage for the fans to see just how far and how fast this group of kids have come. I'd like to see a rematch down the road with both SDSU and Weber because, well just because this group of kids has really come a long way this season.
Understand, Paul is one of my favorite all time Bobcat players but Troy is unworldly and in the same mold as Dennis, Paul (both Dennehy and Shafer) and I believe be's faster than Haas was. 6'3" and 225 lbs. to compliment real Bobcat defense and special teams? See you all tomorrow. The browns are tearing streamers apart every cast...
Here's hoping we don't have to throw it over five times a game the rest of the year!

The good news is that we have Troy Andersen, and they don’t. Always a chance!

Indeed. Our own x-factor.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 23, 2018 10:59 amThe good news is that we have Troy Andersen, and they don’t. Always a chance!
While I’m not sure we beat NDSU, but provided we make it there, I like our chances a lot better than in years past. This team looks like it’s finally built for the playoffs. That bodes well, even against the juggernaut that is NDSU.
griz fans; keeping it classy and gracious in winning since ... well, never.

NDSU has build a program that is actually hard to believe. They are playing like a top 20 FBS team right now. I'm not saying it's impossible for MSU to keep in close but IMO it would require some HUGE breaks, like they're QB and maybe a few other key players getting ejected, or 5+ fluke turnovers for us, etc.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

I remember NDSU coming to Bozeman for a playoff game just prior to their national championships. You could see what NDSU was building that day and it reminds me of what MSU is building today! Big physical teams with above average talent at the skill positions. We may not win in Fargo this year, but we are definitely moving in the right direction!catatac wrote: ↑Fri Nov 23, 2018 12:45 pmNDSU has build a program that is actually hard to believe. I'm thinking if we get to NDSU, our only chance is they overlook us but we could probably get a 14 point lead and they would just reset and wear us down. Too much experience on their side. Any given Saturday though...
